April 11 is the anniversary of Texas Stadium demolition. It was home to my favorite team for 38 years only 15 minutes from home.

I remember watching the demolition on TV. It literally made me cry....especially when they had the camera on Jerry Jones, and I assume, one of his grandkids, who was holding onto him. The grandson was balling his eyes out. Poor baby. It just made me cry even more. LOL

I was there in the '70's, inside on that upper level walkway, standing next to the railing looking out over the parking and paths below outside the stadium. Most people were inside the stadium at that time, so not a lot of people outside but some. Not sure why, but my attention was drawn to a man below. He pulled out a very large knife- in the size range of a large Bowie knife, and held it up. Two undercover cops were near him, and immediately pounced on him, and wrestled him to the ground! They must have been following him, as they were very close. Never learned what had happened, but it made an impression on me in my teens.

I'm picturing the scene from Crocodile Dundee when a guy tried to rob him with a switchblade, and Crocodile Dundee pulls out a "rambo-like" knife and says, "now this is a knife". LOL

I’d love to hear some first hand stories of when you were allowed to bring a cooler of beer in since Irving was dry.

We were able to bring coolers in for a few years. I didn’t bring beer in but some people did. Back in the day they weren’t checking all of them .

The old stadium was fun but it needed to be replaced. The new stadium is 100x better. Unfortunately the fanbase has much less to cheer for and as a result is less rowdy.

So, what's in that spot now? Condos? Parking? Nothing?
I wanna say it's office buildings and the like.. But again.. the whole area has been transformed. I would need to find the old site on a map then point my GPS at it to truly know where it is/was.
