I was there for Super Bowl XIII. We thought it was pretty ran down . Almost as bad as RFK in Washington. The stadium swayed and wobbled with fans movements.
The same thing with Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium and the Falcons throughout the seasons the team played there (1966-1991).
And what was even worse...the lack of restrooms for women and girls.
A guy or boy could enter numerous restrooms and be in-and-out in 5 minutes.
Females would be in lines 40 to 50 deep, waiting for a minimum of 10-15 minutes.

Oh it was terrible. I remember pissing into a tub and having to lean over because a beam was in my face. This is inside a men’s room btw lol.

But the things that happened there….

Now it’s where the Marlins play and no one goes to. They did what I thought was a tasteless tribute to the OB. Outside they showed letters to scale from the side of the building spelling “Orange Bowl” that were half buried, as if were Pompeii. Awful.

I know peope are nostalgic and everything, but that stadium was in bad shape at the end.

I went to one of the last games there and there was a giant leak in the roof right above where we were sitting, the plumbing was bad in the bathrooms and the toilets were always overflowing, the seats were hard as hell and if you didnt bring a seat cushion you had red marks on your butt after the game, and the parking was a nightmare.

The one big advantage was the crowd, it was always rocking at the old stadium.

Not like the new stadium where people just sit quietly and watch the jumbotron all game like they are at the dam cinema watching a movie.
