Anonymous Agent - Cowboys one of worst coached teams

I was amazed watching “All or Nothing” this summer, how involved Jerry and Stephen were in actual coaches meetings.

They showed that scene after the Denver game last year when Zeke had quit on that interception play and the coaches were preparing to fine him or discipline him for his loafing. Then Jerry swoopes in and says no- to the coaches! That little scene explains the dysfunction of this organization in a small package.

Dysfunction is hard to overcome when it’s baked in the cake by the head baker.

Zeke has all the talent in the world but not enough fire or self-discipline to build on his fantastic 2016 season. Trade him while he has value.

There are a lot of new coaches in Dallas since 2014 and 2016
 
This has been circulating or a while with players and agents.

The new thing is that the Cowboys now low ball everyone as well.
 
We've all seen this before. As soon as this stuff starts happening to a team, a coaching change becomes inevitable. I expect an avalanche of complaints, problems, and injuries to follow as we continue to lose, culminating in Garrett's firing.

It's just too bad we traded that 1st pick. I'm still salty about that.

Garrett in his tenure has hovered above .500 and Jerry regardless who his HC has been since Jimmy team has had an even lower winning percentage.

Callahan was calling the run plays in 2014.

2016 the coaches didn't have time to implement their disastrous offense onto Dak. So they took his college style offense and implemented that instead.
 
Although I believe that Dallas absolutely needs to replace Garrett, I doubt players were saying this during the 2016 season or even the 2014 season. Everything you do wrong as a coach and as a player is magnified when you're losing.

Bullet, I was shocked as well and I was one that thought there was some meddling but remember, this is the owner that refused to let Wade increase fines when he was having a discipline problem. I always felt that camp cupcake stuff was unfair to him. The owner set up an enabling environment.

I think coaching for the Cowboys is about one thing, the salary. There are just so many jobs to go around and I think Booger & Son focus on the ones that need a job. I do not think they come into the situation ignorant to the set up, all of these coaches talk among themselves, it's like a big fraternity except they prefer the college guys to stay out. And I think some end up going through the motions knowing this is a limited engagement.

I do not think Booger respects coaching and sees that as a necessary evil to owning a team and certainly can't have one that might actually get some credit and point out what the real problem was all along.

Players complain when they don't like how they were treated or how things went. Look at Brice Butler after last season. What he said didn't keep him from returning to a team that didn't give him a chance to be a starting receiver.

Not everyone sees eye to eye. I'm sure I've had employees here who have griped about the job after they left.

Close, that was immediately followed by the Agent saying "Please ignore how much this player sucked and give him a large contract next year, this dropoff is totally not his fault".

I'm sure there is some of this, especially when you fire an OL coach at midseason. But every team has a certain amount of spin from agents that their client would have been an All Pro if only the coaches had been smart enough to utiliize their guys correctly.
 
Garrett dug his own grave when he hired the C-list cast of career underachieving coaches he currently has under him. He is too poor as a head coach to have guys like Kellen Moore responsible for developing the most important position on the field.

I'd keep Gary Brown, Kris Richard, Mike Woicik, and maybe Colombo out of the entire group. The rest can go.

Butler is the perfect example. He was so good that he should have been starting, and only those idiots in Dallas prevented that from happening. Then he got cut by a team that is 2-6 right now.

Of course it is but the one thing all these players have in common is they all know good coaching. They've spent most of their lives around coaches and they all talk among themselves and they know the difference.

I think it was interesting that Sammy Watkins chose KC over DAL. He had to know he'd be numero uno here as the rumors were already out there about Bryant. He had to contend with Tyreek Hill there but chose them over DAL with an unknown QB taking over.

We assume he hired them. I do not think he had the same leeway in hiring coaches that others have. I think that's a "committee" issue.
