I'm not worried about them because Eli is a weak spot at this point.
You say that, but didn't he step it up when it mattered even just this last year? Maybe I'm wrong...

Never doubt Eli in a playoff game, is what I'm saying. The best bet is to keep that team out at all costs.

Really hoping ODB causes some turmoil in that locker room because that's the only way I see them not improving from last season.

It all starts in the trenches, their OL stinks.

Eli is on the downslope of his career, we saw how fast Peyton tumbled.

Brandon Marshall looks like a good signing on paper..but so did Andre Johnson a couple years ago with the Colts. Sometimes free agent veteran receivers are hard to predict.

They lost Hankins who is excellent against the run.

Pierre-Paul is paid...no longer fighting for that contract.

I can see several reasons they may not be as good.

most people love ignoring the coaching or analyzing the coaching. Everyone knows McAdoo out coached Garrett and had his team sweep the Cowboys. The cowboys problem isnt always the team. Again, I expect the Giants to out coach the Cowboys and than Garrett find fault with the team.

The first game is a wash, Giants should be embarrassed they came that close to losing against a rookie backfield playing their first game.

The second game? Giants had the personnel to confuse our rookie QB and Dez played the worst game of his career. I'm not the biggest Garrett defender but you're way over analyzing two very close losses that could've went either way.

So if Taco had gone 5 picks later, he would not have been a reach?
Stupid reasoning. Is 3 picks later a reach? Is 7 picks later a reach? How about 11 picks?

You have to draw the line somewhere.

The Giants scare me the most, very good defense and their offensive firepower has increased considerably from last year. Their weakness will be their OL and let's see if Eli starts a further tumble from last year. Would hate to see them make another run.

They're weak at OL and RB still. And they're getting to a point where they have questions bubbling up at QB.

Plus, this blurb was interesting in that it mentioned how few penalties they had last season. Maybe that's coaching, maybe it's random distribution. Plus, I hardly think it's a given that having Brandon Marshall in the locker room helps OBJ just because Marshall has overcoming his own demons. He's still getting bad-mouthed by his former teammate with the Jets.

"That man knows what he did to the locker room," [Sheldon] Richardson said during an appearance on the Michael Kay Show on ESPN New York 98.7. "I was the one who addressed it, and I would still address it to this day. If he can't come out [in the] media and tell them what he did and how he actually quit on his team way before the season was over, that's all in itself. ...

"That whole situation was sticky because we were losing, and then you're doing little things that are drama queen-ish, and he's dogging out this guy and that guy," Richardson said. "It's everybody's fault except for his. ... No one wanted to say something to him. Then I say something to him, the criminal, the bad guy, and the media just ran with it."
I think there's a good chance Dak figures out the NY defense this season and we pile on them a bit. It was WAS I was worried about before they blew themselves up yet again, honestly.

NY is going to need a real dominant defense to give them a chance to win the East. Eli is well over the hill now and tumbling fast. That doesn't mix well with no OLine :)

You have to draw the line somewhere.

He was rated as a second round talent, he was drafted late in the first. Five picks later and he would have been a second rounder, so to consider him a reach based on that is the stupid reasoning.

The combination of an ineffective pass rush with a inexperienced secondary could serve as the fountain of youth for Eli. The Cowboys better to get to Eli early.... and often.

Hankins was the reason we couldn't run well against them. He is gone now and I doubt their defense can stop our run game.

The only way they can stop Zeke from tearing their D up is to get him suspended.

Well said, I may borrow a few/several of your points and use during the next family of giant fan get togethers.

I do think Marshall will bring some bite with him and improve their offense unfortunately

I think the Giants are going to really miss Johnathan Hankins clogging things up in the middle of their defensive line. He was a run stopping beast that won't be easily replaced.

Nah! Unlike Cowboys rookies, who need time to learn and get used to the speed and physicality of the professional game, Dalvin Tomlinson will step right in and play like an All Pro.

Dallas lost by one point with a rookie quarterback in his first game and by 3 Points in New York. The Giants were and are built to stop the run and they have as good a set of corners as there are in the league, perfect personnel for stopping a run first team with a rookie behind center. What would you have had Garrett done differently? If you can't get to Eli, it's hard to beat the Giants. It's as simple as that.

When have you EVER heard Garrett bash his players?

And Eli is just hard to get to with his 2 second arm... The Giants are a team where you have to rely on good secondary play right at the jump to 2 seconds for them to be successful against Eli, unless he's in bad form.

Eli's arm strength turned to mush towards the end of last year. He's on the downside and once it starts, it moves quickly. They go as far as Eli will take them, and that ain't very far. Decreasing arm strength and a horrible OL will be their demise.

Peyton tumbled because he had neck problems. Eli doesn't have neck problems.

Philly could have a decent team in the future, but it won't be this year. I hate they drafted Barnett.

NY is the main competitor and they're hard to predict. For all this talk about a book on Dak, I think the same could be said for the NY Defense, from our perspective. They went and threw a ton of cash at players, brought them into the scheme and no one had any tape on them. They were throwing some pretty unique presnap stuff at us that we hadn't seen before from them.

Not anymore.
