Another Cole Beasley thread

I'm ok with the fair catches. Unlike other back up wr/pr..Bease starts on offense. He is the pr because he has good hands.

I don't understand how we don't have anyone else for punt returns. Used to be they'd line up all the DBs and give them a shot at kick/punt returns.

That problem probably goes away next week with Austin coming back, though.

He he...we put a db back there to return the opening kick and stupidly he brought out the opening kick off and flat out fumbled. We don't have a talented pr or kr. It's probably best that we fair catch and take a touch back.

Lewis does not appear to be a kick returner. I don't get the fascination with trying to feed Lewis on offense either. That seems an even less credible option.

Our special teams are not very special. In fairness, more of Beasley's fair catches are with 2 people standing right next to him. Our ability to block gunners is embarrassing.

Strange since Dak overthrows easy tds and throws his receivers under the bus. Maybe he should be on his way out of town too.

I don't recall Dak every publicly complaining about the WRs (but I'm getting old so I may have missed it). But knowing that, I did Google for Dak comments about the receivers in Dallas, and I still could not find anything. Could you provide evidence for your yet-to-be-verified claim?

I do remember Beasley telling everyone to watch the tape (about getting open) and then when Dak "finally" threw a good pass that a Pop Warner WR could catch, Beasley flat out drops it. But did Dak throw Beasley under the bus against Atlanta even though he dropped the opening drive TD? Nope, Beasley was still targeted 7 times that game.

But please, if you can find where Dak threw ANY teammate under the bus, I will be more than happy to apologize and say "I was wrong" rather than stay ignorant and angry for no legitimate reason.

Given the fact we always seem to get a flag on returns I just as soon fair catch it than get backed up half the distance to the goal line.

No doubt. Since the NFL moved the kickoff, and has been trying to remove returns from the game, returning kicks is a negative play more often then not. The chance for a penalty/turnover is too high and I like that we have a lot of fair catches.

As for Beasley, he should probably cut out the pouting and play his *** off to maximize his pay day.

I have not seen a thread on this, but what the heck is up with Beasley? He has almost disappeared from the offense, and he has to be the worst punt returner in the league. How many times is this guy going to call for a fair catch inside the 15 and 10 yard line. This is maddening when it comes to field position.

I think Beas' time has come and gone. We are t looking for him and he is mostly a non factor. I would keep Beas but it would be CHEAP.

As a side note, we might get a 4th or so as a comp pick for losing Beas. What say you?

Youre correct. We start off with the 26th best starting field position.

Despite that our offense is 16th in points per drive. Impressive.

Not sure why Beasley has disappeared from gameplan. Possibly playing less snaps?
It's because Dallas had Dez, a not so good route runner especially when compared to Cooper, and slower than my grandpa Witten.

Bease was Dallas' good route, speedy, always open receiver.

Dallas has Gallup and Cooper and they're taking more shots down the field instead of relying on Beasley's YAC...........which was pretty damn good.

JMO, of course.

Screw that clown. And it’s pretty funny how he gets a pass around here with his attitude. On Coopers long td he looked like he’s rather be anywhere but on the field. Let that be Dez or TO though.

He's no where near the cancer Dez or TO were, but your underlying point is valid.

Beasley's YAC was OK more often then not he would run a route short of the sticks catch the ball and run 20 yar-25 yards parallel to the sticks to get 4 yards.

I keep saying this maybe some of you will get it. Beasley isn't special. He is a decent slot guy and that's it. No upside, I can't wait until he is gone and get Wilson or someone in here that can be a difference maker in the slot position.

I don't have issues with Beasley he shows sure hands, while he has not been as big of a factor in recent games he has still moved the chains when the ball has come his way. As we move towards the post season I think Cole will see more opportunities as defense will focus in more on Cooper. As far as Cole future with the team just have to wait and see what Dallas may or may not be willing to offer. I do think if is a cap friendly deal he has a chance of staying and if he seeks bigger riches it will be elsewhere. However my focus and concern is on the here and now not what may or may not happen a few months from now.

He is still making a difference, IMO. If Beasley doesn’t return, he will be sorely missed because of the attention he draws. While he is very limited, he is one of the few receivers in the league who can’t be covered by just one person. You can easily take him away because he’s a non-physical smurf, but you are forced into doing it a certain way. That can help your offense.

Lewis must have won a foot race in practice or something. He is not dynamic. He needs to focus on playing in the nickel better and upgrading his atrocious tackling.

The offense has incorporated Zeke in the passing game. Much like using Emmitt back in the day to get that swing pass.

That comes out of Beasley's catches.

Conventionally, receivers do not throw the ball to themselves.

I have no idea how you came up with that.

Couldn't be more incorrect.......

we've had a couple of flashy punt returners the last few years, problem is they fumbled a lot. Beasley's there because he has sure hands. not because he's a great return man. as for his touches, that's on the coaches. seems he's a bit on someone's sheet list due to his earlier comments about being open but dak not throwing his way.
