Another Cole Beasley thread

Didn’t he turn down an extension. He wants more money than they will pay him now that Copper is on board so they are phasing him out. Small, quick slot WRs can be had up and down the draft. It seems like every college team has one now. He has also let his attitude show and that isn’t helping at all. He will sign with a division rival thinking he can get revenge and he will soon disappear from relevance like all the rest.
..whats worse, every time I see him waiting for that punt. I cringe, hoping it wont pop out. Having that me, me attitude can go a long way in killing chemistry around you.

I have no idea how you came up with that.

Couldn't be more incorrect.......
his career 10.1 yards a catch and watching him in games. I mean unless of course you consider YAC avg of 5 yards over his career impressive or the fact that he is averaging less than 3 yards in YAC this year. 50 catches with 142 YAC

I have not seen a thread on this, but what the heck is up with Beasley? He has almost disappeared from the offense, and he has to be the worst punt returner in the league. How many times is this guy going to call for a fair catch inside the 15 and 10 yard line. This is maddening when it comes to field position.

Why throw to Beasley when you can throw to Cooper and Gallup?

If you’re a Beasley fan, better enjoy the next 3 games and whatever the Cowboys do in the playoffs. Because I have a hard time seeing a 30 year old small slot receiver with below average numbers getting the kind of contract he and his agent will be looking for in the off season.

I like Cole Beasley. He’s been a nice player for us for several years. But there are younger, cheaper slot receivers with more upside than CB that can duplicate or even exceed his numbers.

I take a safety with the 2nd pick and a back or receiver with the 3rd rounder. Sign Cook the TE from the Raiders in the offseason.

I am sure Jerry wants more dynamic plays. He wants to curb the Dak hate from the media and the fan base. They probably want him focusing on Gallup and Cooper. They have to hand over big money to Dak and Cooper soon. The NFL isn't highschool ball. You have to make certain things work now.

Zeke seems to have turned into the safety net for Dak. I am guessing they feel on those short dump offs... Zeke has a good chance of breaking something open.

I still don't understand your "he would run a route short of the sticks catch the ball and run 20 yar-25 yards parallel to the sticks to get 4 yards." Comment.

Never saw it.

Also could be play design.................... last check-down. Stuff we're not privy to.

Gallup and Cooper are better all around guys. I thought Cooper would of allowed Beas to eat more in the slot though.

For what it's worth, noticed BB said Beasely was open all game. So wouldn't say that is not happening.

I'm going to make a prediction though here and now being that Beasely will be a huge factor now throughout the playoffs. Teams are not going to leave Cooper not doubled like Philly did with as hot as he has been. It's a prove it to me league and it's now been proven. If i'm wrong, well that will be okay to lol.

I don't recall Dak every publicly complaining about the WRs (but I'm getting old so I may have missed it). But knowing that, I did Google for Dak comments about the receivers in Dallas, and I still could not find anything. Could you provide evidence for your yet-to-be-verified claim?

I do remember Beasley telling everyone to watch the tape (about getting open) and then when Dak "finally" threw a good pass that a Pop Warner WR could catch, Beasley flat out drops it. But did Dak throw Beasley under the bus against Atlanta even though he dropped the opening drive TD? Nope, Beasley was still targeted 7 times that game.

But please, if you can find where Dak threw ANY teammate under the bus, I will be more than happy to apologize and say "I was wrong" rather than stay ignorant and angry for no legitimate reason.

There ya go.

3 weeks ago beasly was on pace for his best season ever
Beasley’s production goes down for a few weeks and all of a sudden he can’t play! So stupid. Beasley is an awesome slot receiver because he has superior change of direction and quicknesss. They are going to need his skill set down the stretch.

Regarding punt returns. Beasley is sure handed, but he hesitates to much before heading up field. Also, he calls a lot of fair catches because defenders are almost always in his face. We need block the gunners better on punt returns.

Hes never been fast and hes looks like hes losing his agility with age.

It's combination of him getting doubled on 3rd downs and Coop and TEs stepping up past few games.

I saw Dak going to Jarwin/Schultz/Brown few times when teams were doubling Beas and Coop on 3rd downs. The TEs have shown up past few games and Dak's been spreading the ball around much more which is a good thing.

Didn’t he have some nice catches Sun against the Iggles?

No second round safety is starting year 1. Who’s the last second round safety to start?

He’s easily upgradable next season. Get a bigger, faster guy who can actually score TD’s

he is a punt returner out of necessity. that's not his forte.......we had switzer for the role I believe but he got traded.

with Cooper and Gallup and TEs coming on and more screen plays, his role has diminished as a receiver.
