Jourdan Lewis is in the same boat. No conviction, just an allegation. At least Brantley probably had a tooth on the ground to justify his inevitable blackballing.

I don't think his legal problem will push him down as far. Rape/Sexual Assault is looked at in a whole different class of crime. Even in today's culture, I can see Lewis going in the 4th or 5th. If Conley isn't cleared, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes undrafted.

Specifically if the issue involves domestic violence on a female or in this case, rape, they are done in terms of going in the first round. Not a doubt in my mind.

Especially when it is a fresh wound like this so close to the draft. I don't think all of the fake social justice crusaders on Twitter will have calmed down demanding he get imprisoned immediately by Thursday.

First round picks are about P.R., smiles, handshakes, photo opportunities and jersey sales. No team is going to want to associate with anyone with that kind of cloud around them and have to spend the next week fighting off a screeching pitchfork mob.

Surely I can't be the only one who is bothered by this board's tendency to automatically assume that all physical and sexual assault accusations are false because women are evil or something?

Seems to be the way the pendulum is swinging lately. We seem to forget that NFL players are human beings and have faults which when combined with fame and money can result in people behaving badly.

Conley's college teammate, Marshon Lattimore (who's also an NFL Draft prospect), posted, "So the first thing you say to a girl that you meet in the elevator is let's have a foursome? Lol that doesn't even make sense."

He added, "It's crazy how these females are nowadays, they most definitely prey on you and try to ruin you."

Conley retweeted the post and commented, "Lord knows!"

It could easily be a reflection of the majority of society's tendency to flip out, hop on the social justice choo choo of moral outrage and start assuming guilt based on the initial accusation.

For whom, the victim or the perpetrator? Surely you see the hypocrisy of that explanation. You're still assuming that one of the parties involved is guilty until proven innocent, when you shouldn't be presuming guilt for anyone. It's just an excuse to be sexist.

And there are also people who take the opposite side and without question see some poor woman who was raped. It also does not help there is a race element involved as well.

But given the social circumstances that exist now, it is going to happen.
