I disagree. This is going to be a tough game and a close one at that. I'm not as convinced AT ALL that we are just going to march right in to Soldier Field and win "handily" as others have stated. Ain't gonna happen.
Tough game? Yes. Statement game? Not necessarily.

3rd game of the season, even those against the NFC champs should not be considered statement games. With 13 games remaining, there will be a lot more games that will be considered a statement game.

I understand folks being worried about the 'boys chances in Chicago, but it won't be the end of the world if they leave 2-1. And it won't mean they're on the road to a championship if they leave 3-0. Good starts have been the 'boys motto the last few years. It's the finishes, I worry about.

sure its a statement game, they are a proven contender and we're a proven pretender until proven otherwise...its a statement game because every yr we fail miserably in these type games...we dont have to win, but we cant get run off the field and look like we dont even belong either

Last year's statement game was Indy, the 'boys won, and they were everyone's superbowl pick...and then they collapsed. Winning today won't make me be any more confident about their SB chances.

I seriously doubt the 'boys get run off the field by the Bears. Can they lose? Sure, but I don't see a rout occurring.

the Indy game wasnt a statement game because its obvious they had an off day, while we played beyond ourselves (and we still barely won the game)

the huge games last yr were vs New Orleans and Philly, in the national network spotlight both times, and we got our teeth kicked in both times...early in the season at Philly was a huge game, and we got slaughtered that day too (depite the score)

it wont make or break the season win or lose, but we need to have a good showing

The Indy game was just as important as the N.O. and Philly because Indy was still undefeated at that time. Consider this, maybe Indy had an off day because of how the 'boys were playing them. We can agree to disagree that the 'boys played beyond themselves.

And remember when those games occurred?...in the 2nd half of the season. The Indy game occurred in the middle of the season. I'm sorry, I just don't buy a statement game this early in the season. Is it an important game? Yes. Will it be a tough game? Yes.

Statement games to me, this season, will be those that the 'boys have to win at the end of the season, when the division is on the line (NO-Philly) or if they're in the playoffs, when homefield advantage is at stake. Too often, when they have to win, they choke, or they barely escape with the win.

it wont make or break the season win or lose, but we need to have a good showing

I can agree with this.

Come on... you and me both are scratching our heads wondering how the Bears came to represent the NFC last year..... If we had Garrett running the offense against Seattle... we probably beat the Bears in NFC title game.

The Bears are gonna take hit on Sunday.... an early season downward spiral

38-17

I give them 17 because Hester prob gets a TD

I should have given Hester a TD and if Folks kick wasnt blocked.... I would have hit it on the head.... woulda coulda shoulda LOL

Convinced? :D
It happened.

The Bears went to the super bowl last yr and easily could be 2-0 right now...they have one of the best defenses in the league

if what they had was so easy for teams to overcome, they'd have never sniffed the super bowl
David

It became pretty easy as the game went on :D

Not to be pedantic but if Folk hits the FG, you would have been off by one (assuming not giving Hester a TD), 37-10 ;)
