I get some frustration, but don’t overreact: Thompson is a big name free agent (for a strong safety), and the others so far are at least good depth gets. All reports indicate they were actually in the mix for bigger names, which they never usually are.

I’m not saying they couldn’t have done better (it’s particularly perplexing to me that they couldn’t have offered $15m apy to Lloyd). However, let’s get it right: it’s not like they haven’t done anything, and it’s not like they haven’t spent more than usual.

Fair, but half measures aren’t going to take you from seven wins to a championship…..and they are seriously borrowing from the future and even tapping into next years picks to do so.

I get what you're saying, but the GM is in charge of roster building. It is Jerr's responsibility, his primary one at that, to field a championship caliber team. I think part of the problem is that Jerry does all this talking (i.e., "I can see us being aggressive in free agency this year"; "busting the budget"; etc., etc., etc.) and then does not follow through on what he says.

I think Jerry means to do what he says. I really do, but what happens is he gets talked out of things by the cheap, conservative kid when things get beyond what he determines a player to be worth.

Brisker is going into his 5th year. Thompson 8th. You cant name a player who had a breakout year in year 8.

It’s the same playbook as always - a complete head scratching trade and signing a bunch of mid to low tier guys. Our biggest signing, Gary, arguably isn’t even an improvement over Clowney and is not cheap whatsoever. I mean you could have spent just a bit more (and not given up a 4th) and got Hendrickson. GB couldn’t wait to get rid of Gary, I couldn’t even imagine how they could contain themselves when Dallas called to offer a 4th lol.

I don’t see how we have improved our defense. People thinking that a new D Coordinator alone is going to do much for the defense are delusional. I’m not sure how fans are happy about free agency so far? Very few draft picks and almost forced to take LB now. Better hit home runs on both first round picks.
