This is for you guys that want to blame Romo for every little thing and say that you wish he were out of here.....

Tell me, who would you rather have that is available.

I want to hear your replacements, NOT whining.

I honestly think Tony could win with good coaching. He is not the problem.
Well he's definitely not a part of the solution.

Romo must start playing better. His December/January bugaboos are no longer an imaginary trend. They are the bonafide, real thing and define him even more so than any of the success he endures from September through November.

But, like you said, Romo's our guy. We're financially committed to him, quarterbacks don't grow on trees and it's in our best interest to move forward with him.

What I would like, however, is some semblence that he is receiving proper coaching and not only improving mechanical and intellectual aspects of his game, but has a constant bug up his *** in the form of a coach harping on him to not be reckless with the football.

True that, its hard when he has the worst OC in football.

I like Romo, but he needs to learn to take care of the ball.

That said, he's not the problem. The offense is far too simple to compete against the top defensive teams in the league. Combine mistakes & carelessness and even the most talented teams will get beat by solid teams.

By the way, it's CASSEL, dude.

I don't want to get rid of Romo. I simply want him to make the natural progression as a starting QB and improve. He hasn't. I also want him to take his job more seriously and get rid of the "football is fun" crap. He needs to focus and to also become a LEADER. As the starting QB, especially for a high profile team, you aren't going to be respected and believed in by your teammates unless you become a leader. He could learn some things from Aikman and Staubach. He also needs to quit choking.

Let's just dispense with this December thing....

This year, we had to face the #1, #2, #3, and #7 defenses. The record this year is more of a result of the defenses that we played than anything else.

Last year, it was just like what Romo said....he didn't even hardly play in one of those games and we pretty much had the division sewn up in December....not an excuse for professionals taking the time off, but let's be honest....they did just that.

You know what? I couldn't care less if we play great from September - November and stink it up in December as long as we win in January and February.

He will be a free agent.

I think the Pats are going to do whatever necessary to keep him. I read earlier today that Brady's knee probably won't be ready in time for the start of next year. And he may be looking at another surgery to tighten up ligaments.

But I don't think he'd be the answer anyway. Maybe wait a year and see if we can steal Pennington from the Dolphins.

Let's give him the chance....this was his second full year of being the starting QB. People want to treat him as though he is a 7 year veteran in this game.

He IS still learning and will continue to get better, IMO.

So many of these same people wanted to get rid of Aikman back in the day.

Most of the time you have to play well in December in order to get the opportunity to play in January and Febuary. You know, kinda like this year.

Quit talking tough and give your solution then....

With all due respect, fellas- now may not be the best
time to visit this subject.
I would say that we need to bring in some competition
for Romo next year- someone more threatening than
Brad Johnson!

I think Romo needs to WIN his job next year, not just
walk into camp as the annointed one!

In retrospect, it all came too easy for him-
a little retooling in fundamentals, may be in order!

Jim, I respect what you're saying, but those sound like excuses to me.

If I'm not mistaken, he's something like 20-4 from September through November during his career, and 5-10 with a 70-something QB rating in December and January.

We can go through and find a "reason" for each and every one of those losses, much like we can find "reasons" why any other failure ever occurs.

But the fact is he's never played consistently well late in the season. He's the highest-rated QB ever the first three months and a highly marginal QB in the last two.

Now, I think with good coaching he can get over the bugaboo possibly. But until then, it is what it is. There's no need to run away from the fact.
