You know what? I couldn't care less if we play great from September - November and stink it up in December as long as we win in January and February.

How are we supposed to get to January and February if we stink it up Sept.-November?

Geez.

Romo doesn't protect the ball.

Romo doesn't make clutch throws.

Romo doesn't play well in big games.

Romo doesn't command the offense.

I think if we had better Qbing this year we wouldn't have been in this position.

With that said, Romo may be able to overcome these things, but he needs someone to coach him and I don't see this happening.

I don't see the positive growth that makes me think he is going to imporve anytime soon.

And due to his salary I doubt he is cut or traded.

So in the end, he is our QB and the QB of the future. If we are to win anything in the next 4-5 years, it will be with him at QB.

And right now, that seems a bit far fetched.

Well, then you obviously haven't read all the posts. Like I said, I don't want to get of Romo for anyone. I just want Romo to get better and to become more of a leader. He's not at Eastern Ilinois anymore and he needs to act like it.

So far, not really ONE answer yet....

Because any rationale fan realizes replacing Romo isn't a logical answer at this time.

Tony isn't the answer, unless the question is "who is the biggest choker in the league?"

As for who I'd want that is availabe, I'm not sure who is available. And it's totally irrelevant to the fact that Romo isn't a big time QB. Not to mention that since Jerry handed him half the kingdom, it's hard to replace him with his cap figure.

I do know one thing, I would draft a QB every year until I have at least two quality one's on the roster. And then I'd draft one at least every other year. I don't care if it's only in the 7th round some years. But there is no reason we should have Quincy Carter as our only drafted QB in the last decade. That is a total joke and that rests on one Mr. Jerry "Al Davis" Jones.

Unfortunately, we are stuck with him.

Romo could've played great and we still would've lost today. The mistakes were across the board. Barber's fumble. The defense's ineptitude. Pacman's fumble. The O-line's embarassing display. Etc. Romo was one among many.

Personally, I'm wondering if Romo has been battling injuries all year, and I'm not talking about his broken finger. His accuracy has been terrible almost all year. The ball has either been sailing on him or he's been wide of his target. I know his protection hasn't been anywhere near as good as last year, but even when he's had plenty of time to throw the ball, he's just been off. Anyone that has watched the games this year knows what I'm talking about. And his decision making??? Well, we all know that sucks at times, especially when he's pressured.

It's threads like this that encourage Jerry to keep doing what he's doing. Jerry's bad; the enablers are worse.

Jim, I respect what you're saying, but those sound like excuses to me.

If I'm not mistaken, he's something like 20-4 from September through November during his career, and 5-10 with a 70-something QB rating in December and January.

We can go through and find a "reason" for each and every one of those losses, much like we can find "reasons" why any other failure ever occurs.

But the fact is he's never played consistently well late in the season. He's the highest-rated QB ever the first three months and a highly marginal QB in the last two.

Now, I think with good coaching he can get over the bugaboo possibly. But until then, it is what it is. There's no need to run away from the fact.

Seriously, facing the #1, #2, #3, and #7 defenses would be a steep challenge for ANY QB as well as ANY TEAM.

Hence, my reasoning for saying that THIS YEAR'S record has more to do with the competition that we faced than ANYTHING else. Look at each of those teams.....are not all four of them playoff teams? Yet, outside of today's game, we quite honestly should have won each game. We played the #1 defense right to the very end, same with the #2, and #3 defenses. Today was just ridiculous all around and I won't blame Romo if our o-line can't even block 3 guys rishing FCOL. We had 6 guys back blocking and they rushed 3 and STILL got a sack...what does that tell you? Where is our problem on this team? At the o-line. Where it all begins and ends.

Now that's just an excuse. If we can't face and beat the top defenses in the league, we're never going to win anything. We're supposed to have this juggernaut offense and we can't seem to get out of our own way when we play a good defense???? Excuses.

I don't think any Romo bashers, including myself, think there is realistic chance he will be replaced next year.

That being said, I do think that most Cowboy fans, and hopefully Jerry, realize that drafting a developemental QB has become a higher priority than before. Not a back-up Qb, but one to potentially take over for Romo if he doesn't develop.

Thanks for your answer BB....oops, there wasn't one was there.

Am I enabling JJ in this thread? That's one of the most ridiculous things I've seen yet. I am asking who people want instead of Romo that is available....

I suppose you want JJ to just cut Romo right now, huh?

I. for one, said that wholesale changes are needed and it begins with the coaching staff....getting rid of WP and bringing in Cowher or whoever and letting the new HC decide on who he needs to get it done.

See? How is is that enabling? At least I put some solutions out there....try it sometime.

It's not an excuse as I just said that it was a tall task for ANY team.

I agree with you that we should have won with the talent on this team and that we are supposed to have a juggernaut of an offense....see my post above on wholesale changes.

What I would like, however, is some semblence that he is receiving proper coaching and not only improving mechanical and intellectual aspects of his game, but has a constant bug up his *** in the form of a coach harping on him to not be reckless with the football.
That, and more balanced play-calling, would go a long way.

Top 5 Defense (yards per play)
Top 10 Rush Offense (yards per rush)
Bottom 10 Rush Attempts

Doesn't add up at all.

I think the Pats are going to do whatever necessary to keep him. I read earlier today that Brady's knee probably won't be ready in time for the start of next year. And he may be looking at another surgery to tighten up ligaments.

But I don't think he'd be the answer anyway. Maybe wait a year and see if we can steal Pennington from the Dolphins.

like they do with every player who is gonna demand alot of money huh?

That's a good point.

I'll stick with Matt C. being a result of a team of coaches around him...as well as just better coaching all around that made him out to be better than he otherwise may have been.

I am certainly surprised by his performance overall this year without a doubt. It'll be interesting to see what NE does.

This is for you guys that want to blame Romo for every little thing and say that you wish he were out of here.....

Tell me, who would you rather have that is available.

I want to hear your replacements, NOT whining.
I think Tony improves if we trade Witten away for draft picks. No more security blanket...ball has to get spread around more.

Funny how not one person has an answer for the question but yet everyone wants him run out of town.
