like they do with every player who is gonna demand alot of money huh?

Rumor has it that Brady may not even play next year. The Pats would be dumb to let Cassell walk.

Funny how not one person has an answer for the question but yet everyone wants him run out of town.

I'll answer...

Tim Tebow. Doesn't have all the tools, but he is a smart kid with a great work ethic that cares about winning.

Perfect bus driver, and I think that is all this team needed this year, and will need next year.

While I disagree, especially about "bus drivers", you at least put up a name.

Matt Cassel
Tim Tebow
Colt McCoy
Eric Ainge

Tony Romo reminds me of Tim Couch. Entertaining to watch but stupid.

I don't like bus drivers either, but that would have been all we needed this year.

Tim Tebow is a developmental project that could take 3 or 4 years because his mechanics need to be altered for the NFL game. However, I like the attitude and leadership he brings to his team, and I think that would go far here.

I think you have to give Romo one more year to prove or disprove himself. However, we definitely need to find a quality backup. I agree with the poster that said the Patriots probably will try to sign Matt Cassell. It definitely looks like they are going to need him for another year. I did have a few ideas for quarterbacks if, just for argument's sake, the Cowboys decided to look elsewhere at quarterback.

1-I am curious what the Cardinals do with Matt Leinart. He probably needs a change of scenery.

2-The Titans have to make some decisions in the offseason. Collins is not going to resign with them unless they give him a chance to start. If he is given the starting job, it could spell doom for Vince Young, and they have Chris Simms on the roster. If the Titans can't resign Collins, he could be a two year stop gap kind of guy. He still has a cannon. I actually thought Chris Simms was going to become a good quarterback as well. He would be an interesting possibility.

Now that I think about it, this speaks volumes about the lack of quality quarterbacking in the NFL. There just aren't many possibilities out there.

well, Jerry has put all the eggs in one basket. Romo is NOT an elite QB. He is NOT a leader!!!!!!! There are alot of QB's we could have gotten even as free agents but the position was ignored. WE MUST GET ANOTHER QB TO ATLEAST COMPETE WITH ROMO!!! And if Wade is still here, hopefully there will be a different qb coach. Romo may have regressed more than any qb in history from 1 season to the next.

This is for you guys that want to blame Romo for every little thing and say that you wish he were out of here.....

Tell me, who would you rather have that is available.

I want to hear your replacements, NOT whining.

I would like to have that imaginary superstar QB that everyone thinks we can conjure into thin air.

Good thoughts. My beef with Jerry during the Aikman days was that he didn't bring in another QB out of college to groom prior to Aikman's retirement.

JJ has paid Romo, and paid a hefty price, so we're stuck with him. However, that isn't to say that we shouldn't draft a QB this coming year to groom over the next few years to replace Romo.

i want us to draft a QB that our scouts and hopefully new coaches like in the draft and groom him behind Romo for a year or two. i just dont think Romo is a winner at least not late in the season when the entire pressure is on him. i dont think he has the right attitude to be a winner that the great ones have! i wouldnt get rid of Romo now because honestly yea we probably cant get somebody better now. but hopefully we could groom someone to be. we dont need a QB that produces "big stats" because we will have a great running game for years to come! we just need a young QB that will protect the ball, that will be a tough no nonsense leader for this team in the future and that when it matters most will execute with ice water in his veins! somewhere along the lines of Matt Ryan and Flacco. i been real impressed with them because they are rookies yet they really seem to be great leaders and they dont make stupid plays trying to make something out of nothing. they just depend on the run game and when their teams most need them they make clutch passes! thats the type of QB we need!

He never learned. Outside of Quincy Carter, I can't recall us drafting a QB since Jimmy left 15 years ago. We never tried to find a replacement for Aikman before he retired. And then after he retired, QC, and former baseball players like Hutchinson and Henson were the best he could come up with until we lucked up on an undrafted player like Romo.

But now I don't think Romo is the answer. Way to erratic and folds too much under pressure. Aikman's been gone 8 years and yet we've only drafted one QB in that time. Unbelievable.

Agreed. No reason we shouldn't at least draft a QB every 2-3 years. Even if it's just a 6th or 7th rounder.

OK, now how about one that has won a game in the playoffs and could actually come to Dallas.

Wow I didn't realize all those guys were available. Sure Give me Payton or Brady but I doubt their teams let them go.

It is all over the news. Brady's rehab is going nowhere fast, and he could miss 2009 (the entire season). Therefore, the Pats would be stupid to let Cassell walk.

Cassell will want a lot of money, which means that the Pats can't afford to keep 2 high priced QBs. This likely means that Brady's days in New England could be over.

I would take him in 2010.

First of all, I do not want Romo ran out of town so I suppose I am not one of the guys the OP is talking about.

However, the version of Romo we have seen to date is not ready for prime time...does not mean he will never be just means he is not ready now.

If I had to answer though, the obvious answer would be Matt Cassel although I understand Dallas is not in a position to sign him.

I think with Romo, Dallas needs to invest a premium pick on a QB. Just because no one has a name readily available does not mean you don't look for an insurance policy just in case.

Romo would be just fine with ANY protection. The offensive line is a joke. Protection is non existant and Flosmell is useless.

we should of taken Drew Brees when the Chargers were shopping him, we dropped the ball there big time.
