Here we go again with these ridiculous claims ......

This sounds like when some idiot defending Merriman said 90% of the league was on steroids.

It really isnt that rediculous of a claim. How many idiots get caught every year with failing a drug test. They all know they're going to be tested its no secret but many players keep getting caught. I'm not gonna speculate 50% but you would have to think it would be a lot of players with how many keep failing drug test

Weed and steroids are a totally different thing...

BTW, do you know how prominent marijuana usage is in high-school these days, let alone pro athletes? The established usage of marijuana is 33 percent of all Americans have tried it once. And the trend is increasing. The trend of marijuan usage far exceeds the trend of steroid usage, so when somebody says that probably 50 percent of athletes indulge in marijuan in the off-season, it isn't a ridiculous claim..

Marijuana is a recreational drug for most people, and they do it in the confines of their home, or their friends home..

Or maybe ..... just maybe ..... that drug test are getting so good now that they catch most of those who do it.

There are How many players in the league? Almost 2000 including the scout teams?

How many players get busted a year for drugs? Maybe 20+

Silly argument.

The NFL Players Association declined to comment about the lawsuits or about any other issues players may have with the drug policy.
Bryant's lawsuit says that earlier this month, the Dallas Cowboys inquired about signing him, but the $500,000-a-year offer was revoked when the NFL notified the Cowboys that Bryant would be suspended for one year once he signed a contract because he has not complied with the policy for random drug tests.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also came calling but declined to offer a contract after hearing of the dispute, the suit says. Bryant has asked a judge for a temporary restraining order barring the NFL from administering the tests and notifying teams that he is out of compliance.

Trying it once and being a pot smoker are 2 different things. But keep trying to prove this ridiculous point.

Bring back Antonio Bryant. He was my favorite player while at my Alma mater Pitt and then was drafted by my favorite team the Cowboys. Bryant can return kicks and punts. He would be better than Miles Austin. And if Terry Glen goes on IR or any other WR goes on IR then he would be very welcome. Good for the Cowboys if they have an offer on the table for him. The guy can play. Parcells messed with AB and screwed him up. Wade can work with anyone and brings out their best.

:laugh2:

I love that crap. Bryant is a mental case, pure and simple. He's a junior owens with out the talent. How many chances would owens have gotten with Bryants talent?

I quoted that number just to show how many people tried it... 33 percent of America amounts to 33 million people, meaning it is ALL OVER the place, and spans all sectors of society... this establishes it's AVAILIBILTY, and with availibility comes more usage.. and the usage of weed has sky-rocketed for high-schoolers since the 90s and most pro-athletes went to high-school during this period..

it is ratehr gullible to assume that NFL players don't smoke weed in the off-season, especially considering it kills a lot less people than alcohol.. and especially considering they have plenty of time and lots of money to just sit around their houses...

"Second-hand smoke", just like Denver's Travis Henry!!! If Henry's appeal is successful, every NFL player will use that exuse and NFL drug use will reach 90%.

Thus, the lawsuit....

Well, the issue does have a valid legal implication... How much jurisdiction does an NFL team concerning a player, who isn't even on a team's roster at a particular point in time? Some people may consider this an invasion of privacy....

Actually CC is totally correct.
AB is talented, but he is also a nutcase
Correct about Bryant being "a very good WR?" In his absolute best year, Bryant was 19th in the League in Receiving Yards, 29th in Receptions, and 38th in Receiving TDs. And that was in his best year. The rest of his career, when he has been able to stay on the field, he has been average-at-best and never somebody you would throw into the "very good WR" category.

Huh? you smoking some weed right now?

Anyway ..... drug testing is a lot harder to beat nowadays ..... If half the NFL were doing it many more would get caught.

I'm not for or against signing him, but he has played with some horrible QBs and inept offenses...

I think the most important thing about this story is that the Cowboys were concerned enough about the WR position to entertain Bryant. What does this say about our current crop outside of Owens?

Sign him to vet's minimum, make sure he passes all his tests.

Sit him down for the remainder of the year to serve his suspension, and get him ready for next year.

Owens and bryant on the same sideline would be classic.

If we could only get keyshawn to quit espn we would have a trio of idiots.

Says Terry Glenn was hurt and Crayton had yet to prove himself? How long ago was that offer made?
