Williams? That was lightning in a bottle.

Not that we have to use a 1st round pick on a TB. I am generally against the idea as well but we should put ourselves in a position if we are picking 15th, let’s say, and he’s BPA, it would be nice to at least be able to consider taking the best player instead of forcing a pick on the 5th best DE.

That you can consistently find productive RBs in free agency, including rookie free agents.

That part. At this point I’m just hoping they re-sign Pickens. Because what I do know is they aren’t gonna spend money on free agents. Every year this fanbase does this. I’ve given up on free agency. At this point as bad as this defense is I don’t even know if free agency will fix it. We need cheap good talent on defense and sadly the luck of the draft is how you get that.

It's true and again I am generally opposed to using a 1st round pick on a TB.

But it would be nice if the Cowboys weren't constantly in a position to force a positional pick in the 1st round and give yourself a chance, especially with 2 first rounders, to take an explosive offensive player.

I have no delusions that they will take Love because I suspect they will sit on their thumbs in FA again and then draft DBs, LBs or DEs with their two first round picks because they have to.

And again, his point isn't that he's counting on rookies. His point is that the Cowboys have literally told you they don't really see FA as where they improve the team, rather, they improve through the draft. Those are Jerry/Stephen's words, not Mountaineer's.
