He's on the roster already. If you sign him in the offseason it's status quo (and they should try to bring him back).

The point people are making and have made for years about the Cowboys and their failures in FA is that they do not spend money to try to improve a position with an outside FA. Like despite having a clear need at LB, they likely won't spend on a quality FA LB. They'll sign some JAG and hope he works out. Going out and re-signing Pickens and then trying to tell us that's a big time FA signing is really more of the disingenuous excuse making we get from the homers.

How little self respect does one have to have to continually make excuses for Jerry? It's so weird to me.

I think Love is just a notch below B.Robinson but is better then Jeanty as prospect but the Cowboys have shown the last two seasons they don’t need to invest high draft capital or money into the running back position. The offensive line will open holes for anyone.

That would be about how I would tier him as well. As a group, Id put that trio a tier below Elliott/Barkley

I mean technically he's not a FA until the league year expires in March 2026. So if they sign him before that or even tag him, you say he's not a FA acquisition but if they sign him as soon as the clock strikes midnight on the start of FA in March 2026 we should count him as a FA signing.

It has nothing to do with the point. Signing a guy who was on your team that previous season isn’t proof Jerry is active in FA.

I swear the lengths some of you go to in order to defend Jerry and his complete mismanagement of the franchise is impressive.

I don't defend Jerry. If you don't understand the definition of a FA that is your problem.
 
we need more talent
resigning our own *which happens way too often* is not increasing our talent pool.
 
I really want to use both of our firsts on defenses. That would make the fourth round our earliest opportunity to take a RB.

The downside of the trades for Q and GP

Like the running back position. Our running back was a free agent and so were some of our edge rushers.
