Also before you all whine about a suspension, remember the patriots play the steelers week 1

I hate this new NFL. Why does every little thing have to lead to a suspension. Jerry Rice admitted to using stickum when it was illegal. The Steelers abused steriods in the 70s(and are still getting away with it today) The Seahawks cornerbacks held on every pass play knowing the refs would not call it every time. The 1994 49ers blatently violated the salary cap to beat Dallas that year. The Raiders greased uniforms and used fake casts to hurt their opponent.

I hate how Goodell is ruining the game. Fine the player or organization but let the players play. Gamemanship (or cheating) used to part of every team's arsenal. Now it is supposed to be reserved for only the Dean Blandinos, John Maras and Gene Steretores of the league.

I want to see the Patriots at full strength. That will be good practice for when we play them again later in the season. :flagwave:

A guy that might have known about something that had no impact on a game should definitely be suspended.

No impact and intent are two different things.

He knew, why do you think he wouldn't hand over his phone and email records.
The last thing the NFL and the Patriots wants is the ball boy on the stand being grilled by an attorney.
Brady is backed into a corner now, we all saw him lying to the cameras just like Armstrong.
The cover up can end up costing him more than the original crime.

Here is my guess and we can see if it is right.

Pats get a 500k fine and Brady gets 2 game suspension.

lot of people saying but failing to realize the lack of proof was due to Brady withholding evidence. Which itself is punishable by the league

Hope you are not including me in that bracket sparky. suspend him and blame it on anything you want , make up another commissioners list but the report couldn't prove anything and the sure had enough time.

So why than don't they let the players take PED's in that case? I always thought cheating was cheating????? Or is it different rules for the golden boy of the NFL and the team who he plays for, whom by the way have been nailed on three separate occasions for cheating?
If you allow teams and players to circumvent the rules over and over again aren't you telling your fan base that you are paying to watch a corrupt sport whose outcomes can easily be manipulated without penalty?

The league may not have to go by reasonable doubt, but if he decides to sue it very well may be overturned. I don't know how the courts would handle it or if they would even hear the case though. I still don't think he gets suspended for deflate gate.

I would love to be wrong though. I wouldn't mind seeing him suspended for a very long time. The levels they took to gain a competitive advantage is appalling. They altered the piece of equipment the whole game is based around. Not just that but the stats for RBs fumble rates tell me there is a major competitive advantage they've gained. RBs before they got to NE and after they left had a significant disparity in fumbles. I don't care if they couldn't prove it, I still believe Belichek knew and approved of it and would love for them to be exposed for this.

I seriously doubt Brady wants to sue and go to court on it. Wouldn't he HAVE to release his phone texts/msgs then? There is a reason he didn't let them have access to them - he's guilty!

This came up during the lull between the championships and super bowl and again during the post draft lull. Thats interesting timing. I dont understand why people care about such a nothing story.

Why not come down with a guilty verdict then?

It wasn't a judge or a jury, it was a report submitted by a private entity to a private entity, to decide punishment within the framework of their own rules and regulations.

I would say there is a 75% chance Brady is suspended. I think the public pressure will demand it. Some sports writers want to see 1 year suspension. I doubt that happens but I do think within the next few days the NFL will hand down a suspension

They will probably get 3 compensatory picks in next years draft. The picks will be two 3rds and a 4th.
