Any chance rush signs an extension?

While Rush might not be a physical specimen and have the measurables of some QB, he has other attributes: quick release, good field vision, accurate passer, able to read coverages; and thus far, he has made few, if any bad decisions. I think one should evaluate a QB by the severity of their mistakes and I feel Rush minimizes those as he is quite capable of playing within a system as demonstrated these last few games. Every QB has warts, it’s just whether or not they are a good fit in the system and complement the skill players….and he would be salary cap friendly.
I could see him getting another gig elsewhere.

I'm not sure NFL coaches, who actually watch game film, are as giddy about Cooper Rush as some Cowboys fans.

No most just want Dak to play like Dak at the start of last season, why would i want him to play like his arm is dead.

but still some that need stop gap bridge might, i mean i can see a deal around 6-7 mil per as low-end starter but up to 11 with bonus stuff, if I'm the FO, anything under 10mil, i might match it ,say hey stay here we will pay him the same.

fans are caught up in the heat of the moment, can't see the forest through the trees but many backups got hot like Foles, Castle, Flynn, and others got paid and never remained a starter long.

I will say last years vikings game was his first real start in a regular season game in his whole career. And pretty much picked up where he left off and has improved. Not sure if he has hit his ceiling. He may be what he is right now. He has gotten more comfortable. Made a few good passes right on the money deep. Was a nice pass on the TD to Gallup. But we saw him throw a few picks that got called back. Do you think he saw the interference and threw it there to draw the flag.

Honestly at this point I think it might be too late. But is there any reasonable amount of money we could offer him to keep him around after this season?

Honestly his agent is probably seeing $$$ so I think he’s probably goin into free agency at the end of the year no matter what.

But I really hope we can give this guy a multi year deal for a reasonable amount.

Given the value of a competent QB, and how *often* we've created one, roster spots are a good investment, and practice squad spots are a no brainer.

Not sure Rush is going to end up getting more than the one-year, low-ball offer he always gets. The team is on a nice run with him, but that could go south in a second. Not sure teams in need of a QB are going to see him as a hot commodity.

The Saints are paying Andy Dalton 3M for 2022.

Rush is unlikely to exceed that amount for 2023.

But the same posters woud literally sell you any QB but Dak including Jones and Wentz..its more of the same, didnt see those "Rush should start" threads before the season..nor "Hey look Rush is TB12" it just shows the agenda some have here when it comes to the QB on this team...."I want whats best for the team as long as its not Dak, then i dont care whats best for the team"

why is it the second a player has an acceptable or better game people come out with posts concerned about signing/resigning the player to longer contracts almost immediately.
He has done nothing yet. Hes had 2 average but nothing spectacular games. Heck he hasnt even beaten Dak out yet as starter. I think we can wait this one out

they wont listen they see wins and losses which is great but the reason for not losing are far different.

yes and they all would take Dak over those 3 even with draft picks and that money.

fans maybe split but that half that think Rush is better need eye surgery's, Rush is playing above expectations and the recipient of great defense, better play calls, better OL lay, less Penalty's, less mistakes ie dropped passes, more open WRs, a better FG kicker etc etc etc you know lie 11-5 Matt castle, Nick Foles, Trent Dilfer, matt flynn, and many others , they go elsewhere start and fail..its a mirage
