Nobody could block Reggie White successfully without help because he had the club move down to an art and would literally lift tackles off the ground.

Except Big E, who made a career of it.

If White could lift Larry Allen off the ground with one arm, and Allen is a lock to be a future Pro Bowler, I don't see how Erik Williams would have had a chance without help.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Exactly.

I know everyone loves to glorify Reggie White because he is no more, but Erik Williams had his number. Go back and watch the Packer/Cowboy games of the early 1990s for evidence.

I didn't see much Reggie White domination, if any at all. Watch the "Boniol Bowl" where he was frustrated, beaten and whining by the end of the game.

That one club move against Allen in his rookie year and Max Lane in the Super Bowl have been replayed so much that people assume he did that every single down against every player he faced. Fact is, he didn't.

Like I thought, you didn't see the games, just the highlights.

At any rate, that was in Allen's rookie season.

And it was one play.

But I guess many Commander fans love to draw global conclusions based of single plays. It must go with the territory.

Williams routinely gave Reggie White fits. White used to claim that Williams was dirty, but hey, you do what you have to. You have two incredibly gifted 320-pounders going at it and anything goes. I'm sure Reggie bent the rules, too.

These battles usually happened in the NFC title game ... long after the Commanders' season ended, so I'm surprised you didn't get a chance to witness them.

Anyone hear anything about how Allen (SF), Glover (STL) and Tucker (TB) are doing in camp?

I heard they're no longer on the Cowboys roster.

Wasn't Williams move against White (The Cobra) Outlawed by the NFL after Reggie complained?. I know it was just a Forearm under the Facemask, but why is that any worse then White's toss?. I agree that for the most part Eric owned Reggie.

That's what always makes me laugh ... imagining Larry Allen's Hall of Fame speech.

For some reason, I'm not expecting a Rayfield Wright type of performance.

speaking of which, was not Rayfield's speech a thing of beauty? Great on the gridiron, awesome at the lectern. Nothing like the old schoolers.

White had his way with Larry Allen as a rookie...

and Erik Williams absolutely trashed Reggie White during his career...I think he may still be the only OL in modern history named offensive player of the week...it was either the 1992 or 1993 season and Williams just made White disappear

Can I ask Warren Sapp? I wonder if he thinks Allen is a bully.

No I don't watch all of the games.

But a hall of fame defensive end like Reggie White doesn't get stonewalled one on one routinely, by anybody.

If he were, he wouldn't be in the hall of fame, and Erik Williams would be.

Reggie struggled aginst Eric Williams big time. If you watched the matchup there was no question Eric pounded on Reggie on a regular basis

I can see how he would struggle, if Williams had TE help.

That was not the case. Sorry Eric Williams dominated Reggie every time Dallas faced GB and did so one on one. This was a big reason Dallas beat GB in all of those playoffs games in the 90's.
