Yeah, but every time he throws the ball, that fricken bushyass tail of his points in the direction of the intended pass.

It's a dead giveaway!

Torre not surprised

Cowboys got Henson

When news broke Friday night of Drew Henson’s trade to the Dallas Cowboys, Joe Torre wasn’t surprised. And it’s not because he follows football that closely.

During his annual trip to Hawaii in the 2002-03 off-season, Torre revealed Saturday, a friend of Cowboys Coach Bill Parcells spoke to Torre about Henson, who at the time was a third baseman in the Yankees’ minor-league system.

Torre wouldn’t identify the Parcells friend, but he said, “I told him, ‘I think he’s going to play baseball.’ ”

Henson, of course, played one more season of baseball before quitting to pursue life as an NFL quarterback.

And the Cowboys followed through on their interest in Henson, acquiring him from the Houston Texans.

http://www.detnews.com/2004/moresports/0403/15/d02-92007.htm

What does this prove to anti-Henson mob?

A) Joe Torre is a liar.
B) Joe Torre has an agenda.
C) Anyone pulling for Henson is a liar and has an agenda.
D) All of the above.

The correct answer is D if you're in the anti-Henson mob.

Maybe Parcells really is a football genious who had the foresight to set himself up with a potential franchise QB on the cheap while getting ready for his new gig in the "big room", as he calls coaching the Dallas Cowboys?

Naw, it was all Jerry.

HAHHAHAHHAH!!!!!!!

Doesn't matter who wanted him, Nors?

I'd say it darn does well matter who wanted him. And for how LONG he wanted him. It's why Henson is Bill's Boy..and why everything will be done to develop him right as the Future long term Dallas Cowboy QB.

Well, if being announced the back-up was a lifetime job, I could see Drew being in the fight of his life.

But depth charts get re-arranged on a very regular basis. As last year bore out.

What is today is not always tomorrow, and Henson has much bigger battles ahead of him then where he stands on a depth chart on August 11, 05.

He's Bill Parcells' Protege. He'll be okay.

It remains to be seen on BP/JJ - Henson not getting treated like a Parcells guy so far......

Fact is Henson is battling Romo - and losing so far. You belittle Romo yet Henson is underperforming him???- thats a double edged sword and there is blood on your hands.

The Romo-Henson thing reminds me of what went down in NY.

Romo is similar to Lucas, a scrappy kid who Bill liked a lot (tho of course, Bill was very VERY fond of Ray, and there has been nothing like evidence of that kind of bond with Tony). But we do have the 'moxie' comment and a sense Tuna likes Romo.

But no matter, when push came to shove, Bill set the Jets up with Penny, an elite talent, and Lucas was, for all his years of closeness with Bill, out in the cold.

Because Bill doesn't let sentimentality get in the way..he ops for the better player, and the fact he coveted Henson for so long matters.

It might take some time, but Tuna will leave the Cowboys with a very good QB.

I belittle Romo? Blood on my hands, lol? Getting a little melodramatic, aren't we Nors?

That's absurd. You run up and down the board belittling Henson over and over, and you've got the nerve to say that, LMAO!

I like Tony and hope he does well.

But Henson will be the last man standing. Talent will inevitably out.

I don't see it.

Pennington was a #1 pick with a vast relevant College resume. Henson is far closer to Hutchinson......

We shall see - year 2 its not great news the great talent in Hensoin is not ahead of Romo. Facts are Romo beating him out. I too am waiting for the potential.

This is an outstanding post! Unfortunately, one cannot speak well of both players. In praising one, you must belittle the other at any and every post.

Didn't you get the memo? :laugh2:

Seriously, this is exactly how I feel. I want to see BOTH players succeed. But if push comes to shove..........talent is what wins the day.

Henson is oozing with it. Will he ever put it together? Who knows? But it's all there: the cover, the page numbers, the chapter titles......Henson needs to fill in the rest.

In the end......he'll be kept.

Good call on the NY comparison.

IMO Roma is a better prospect than Lucas and ultimately BP wants to churn out QB's for picks ala GB under Ron Wolf. Hence he's taking it nice and slow and making sure the overall bus (O and D) is better before he shows his wares to the public. Get a D that can set up the O in enemy territory and let JJ/Witten, et al. make Romo look good.

Possible reason the 4th/developmental QB convo starts up last couple of days.

Tuna obviously disagrees, or he wouldn't have been badgering Joe Torre about Drew within days of signing on as Dallas head coach. This is a LONG term interest. Makes you think the lot of 'em..Quincy, Chutch, Vinny, Bledsoe. Romo... are just usurpers of various abilities warming the heir's seat while the Crown Prince is being prepared for the throne. :D

The throwing motion setback will be overcome. Talent will out.

We shall see is right, Nors. Just how long both wear the Star.

Yes - Henson is performing behehind Romo to set up the league so we can "trade" Romo for picks.

Parcells doesn't operate like that- Polar opposite. He plays his performers. 8 days and we'll know the answer at backup QB. Another year ticks bye and the gap for Henson is growing.....not shrinking.

The gap is growing faster for Tony, I'm afraid.

He has to put up or shut up NOW, not Drew.

It isn't Henson who has to worry about who Bill has on speed dial.

Henson's place, as the Parcells Protege Poject on the rosterm is GUARANTEED.

And we don't even have to get into Jerry.

Man, I wish I had the job security of Drew Henson!!
