what was documented was that BP was doing some background work. He did not pursue Henson. He just had dinner with the kid to find out where the kid's head was, he talked to the kid's father and his old coach and the guys and coaches on the Yankees.
That is not pursuing that is background checking, to find out about a person.

You misunderstood what actually happened, but you were not the only one, some sportswriters did the same thing, and al ot of other people, fans etc.

They took dinner talking with past coaches and father as pursuing. Jerry pursued Henson not BP. If the Texans had been willing to give up Henson when we signed Hutch, Hutch would not have ever been here.

That is not the truth. Parcells never uttered a word about Henson, until Jerry signed him.
He never said anything about trying to get Henson from the Texans.

You forget the ego part of Bill and Jerry uniting to work together ...

There was a big question about if their egos would let them work together ... Henson was signed around the time of this question ... this answered that question ...

This is Henson 2nd year with Dallas and Parcells 3rd so Bill was already in place a year before getting Henson came to Dallas in that time Bill made other changes and if he did not want Henson, Drew would not be here period end of story. I know you don't like Henson but don't try to make Bill and your mindset the same because they are not the same. I don't know if Henson will ever make it or not but Henson being here has everything to do with Parcells

What I love is people who would give Carter the benefit of the doubt will not give Henson the time of day. Henson is here and will remain in Dallas as long as Parcells sees fit. When or if the time comes that Bill no longer wants Henson on this team he will be gone.

I can not buy into the Parcells not wanting Henson around angle. To much history against this IMO. I have watched Parcells for many, many years now. Going back to the late 70s at Air Force, this is not the way the man works. He is the final word on his football team, where players are concerned. That's the deal and I tell you now, it's completely out of character to assume otherwise.

He's got an ego, no doubt ... but we're going to have to disagree here. Parcells let Jerry have his toy IMO to keep Jerry happy - and let Jerry have his toy ...

Parcells DID NOT instigate this trade ... Jerry Jones did ...

I'm not saying that he doesn't want him around or anything like that ... in fact, I think we may keep him even if we do bring in a vet ... to keep his word that he gave Jerry ...

You can't seriously say - knowing Parcells - that he would put any stock in a guy that has played as little football as Henson has ... and not only that took a HUGE layoff after playing so little ...

It just doesn't make logic sense ...

Fair enough. I will, in turn, tell you that nobody holds a roster spot on a Bill Parcells football team unless Bill Parcells wants it that way.
