Any panic yet?

Not in panic mode.
Defense looks very good.
Offense without Zeke in the 1st 2 games moved the ball well most of the time.

Concerned, yes, about the health of the OL. Hopefully they are all back for game 1 and Lonney is good to go also, until Travis returns.
But any injuries, even with Dak and Zeke in there, we may see part of what we seen last night. Maybe not as dire, but it will not be good either.

This is where Dak will need to step up and show us he can carry the team in the passing game, as a few WR need to emerge as well.
Zeke will be Zeke and can help carry the offense, but others need to do their part as well.

Hopefully all are healthy by game one, and we get good, great news on Travis that he will make a full recovery by mid season, if not before.

Don't you love these 8 plus year rebuilds?
Due to a couple of things:

1) Poor player evaluation/drafting. Just way too many ridiculous draft picks and counting on players who don't have NFL talent. Cooper Rush. Dude doesn't have an NFL arm. He's just the current example. Chaz. Why was he so overdrafted, and why is he still on the team? Is Fleming as bad as he looks? Why didn't we at least bring in some OL's who could at the very least hold their spot?
2) Strange blueprint. I mean, Settle was there for the taking. We refuse to even look at 1 techs. We finally get a decent one in Woods, and look what he's done for the D. Best we've had since TMac was here. Why are we so dense about this position? And S? It keeps us down.
3) Building one dimensional teams. Our O is the OLine. Period. We have no answer if just one starter goes down. Very shaky foundation.
4) Unwillingness to rebuild. Basically, if you want to speed up your rebuild, trade away some aging vets w/ value. We never do. Was there a trade offer for Romo? How about Carr? Barry Church? Even Sean Lee? Hitchens? Leary?

We let a lot of guys walk simply due to a poor evaluation of where we were as a team. There were legit high round offers for Mike Jenkins, MartyB, and Tashard Choice. However, we just don't possess enough nerve and football smarts to do so.

That's why it's taking so long.

ones not enough as the NFL doesnt let you hit much in practice with the dumb rules they created, so id say two games to evaluate young talent at full speed against other players who are trying to tackle or get by you..theyve already proposed an 18 game schedule with 2 preseason games they need to figure out how to expand rosters and a lot of things never been done before..once you expand rosters then that changes the Cap etc..theres a lot to do and I bet behind the scenes they are working on implementing this soon..

The starters barely play anyway, so what hitting is really being done? Just the sacrificial camp bodies.

The NFL has to be getting more and more embarassed by the NFL preseason product.

Ratings have dropped dramatically because fans are bored to tears by it. The games are getting worse by the season.

Coaches don't want to play them. Players don't want to play them. Fans don't want to watch them.

They need to go to one game only or do away with preseason altogether.

Imagine if Week 1, most every star player was playing. That would be good for the product.

The CFL plays 2 preseason games, 18 regular season games, and each team gets two bye weeks.

I'd prefer that over what the NFL does now.

College football plays none. And they do just fine.

I'd make sure no divisional games are played in September.

Losing Frederick was the worst thing that could have happened to the line. Looney is a monster drop off. He will not hold up. Not based on last night. Defense looking very good, but safety is a huge concern. Probably the worst safeties in the NFL. Can we hide them?
I thought they played better than last week. I didn’t see the middle of the field open as much. I think our D-Line will play good enough along with the CB to hide the slight deficits at safety.

If Fleming can't play, I put that on coaches. He started for NE is the SB and if he can't play then BB wouldn't have done that.....see Malcom Butler. Other points are spot on. They have no clue about DT and Safety.

Works for me - teams can scrimmage each other if they want to hit other players - but the NFL would never go for it.

Under the 2 and 18 scenario you still have 20 games of sales and TV revenue.

No panic. Concern? Yes but the pretend season wasn't going to address that. I don't care if they were 3-0 and looked good, that does not mean anything.

The question is can this be a flip the switch team once it gets real? I have doubts about that.
With the new WR and the fact that because of O-Line ding we aren’t running Dak or Elliot I do see us struggling to get it going. For how long I don’t know. Hoping just a few quarters. Once they start clicking we should be fine. When the new WR get on the same page we should be real well off. Not trying to force the ball to one WR will help. That play to Beez last night that Rush misses is going to be happening more this year.

Not for me. I fully realize we are in the middle of a rebuild and don't expect all that much this season. If we panic again(like the Cassell trade) we're just dumb. Let this play out, then fix the weaknesses.
And we really don’t know how bad it is yet. I know O-Line depth needs to be addressed. Big drop off from starters. Defense looks strong.
