Anybody else hear Florio on The Fan say Gruden will be next HC?

Actually I think that was a Jerry move, just after the Bears game he came out and said that we'd see different players on the field vs GB.

You guys give Jerry way too much credit for things. Just because Jerry runs his mouth does not mean he's the one making the decision. I cant believe how you guys give that rambling babbling fool so much credit for stuff.

It goes both ways, I give him credit for certain things and I also know when he is at fault, he's biggest by far being the HC he's hired.

I just don't see any big name coach coming here until this Defense resembles a Defense.

More curb time for you;

A player has been benched for poor play and its not Carter

http://sportsblogs.star-telegram.co...ts-to-show-hes-not-going-to-go-away-easy.html

Webb was the Cowboys’ only option after Morris Claiborne went down with a hamstring injury, and he struggled. He was in coverage on touchdown passes against the New York Giants and Chicago Bears. In New Orleans, he passed up a tackle at the goal line, also getting benched in that game.
Yet he gets shot after shot to "prove" himself. This franchise used to cut players after one bad game. Ask yourself why these guys keep finding playing time. They shouldn't. As bad as some of these guys play, they should be taking chances with the Sterling Moores of the world much sooner. Losing should be unacceptable. This coaching staff breeds a culture of losing, and acceptance of it.

I know you're referring to Jimmy Johnson, but was it across the board? Just standard policy? Automatic? Uh, how about Leon Lett?

You post as if there was some time of winning in our past when players were just cut for a bad game. We were so good, and replacement players were so easy to find, so if a player was screwing up he was just cut and JJ went down to the local Player's Costco and got another one. Its never been that easy.

More curb time.

Gruden has openly stated he isn't leaving ESPN for coaching.
He doesn't want to return to that 80 hour week grind when he has a nice, cushy media gig.

Gruden may well have beent he 2nd option after Garrett a few years ago but that ship looks to have long since sailed.

Florio is a glorified rumor-monger. His next scoop will be his first.

Johnson wasn't terrible that year but Gruden deserves the credit for that. Prior to Gruden's arrival in 02 Johnson's TD to turnover ratio was 13-13 in 01 with a passer rating of only 77.7. Gruden was forced to play Rob Johnson in several games in 02 due to injuries to Brad Johnson. Offensively the Bucs were average in 02 their top rusher only gained 718 yards averaging 3.5 a carry.

That SB was won by Tampa's defense. Not only did Gruden win a championship in Tampa with an average QB but he accomplished it against a Raiders team he helped build. Rich Gannon was a journeymen QB when Gruden brought him to Oakland in 99 and helped develop him into a solid QB who ended up winning a league MVP a few years later. Gruden is responsible for helping 2 average QB's become SB QB's.

And who was his OC from 01-03? The guy was is having success with Josh McCown!

If you get rid of Tom Bradys 5 Super Bowl appearances, what do you have?

A guy with still more playoff wins than Tony Romo

George seifert won a SB just like gruden did. If he were 10yrs younger, would you want him coaching Dallas?

He's my choice! But he'd have to really love coaching to leave that TV job. And to work for Jerry.

Gruden won with Dungys players going against a system he knew, he has done nothing else but have a memorable scowl and persona. I am 100% against the hiring. Hes a one hit wonder retread. Id rather take a shot on an up and coming coordinator with a fresh outlook.
