Acute increase in O2 in the lungs leads to increase O2 in blood. This is what I said.
Inversely, if you were to decrease O2 in the lungs acutely, you would have a decrease in O2 in the blood. This concept may be easier for you to understand since this is what occurs when traveling to a higher altitude. The effect, in this setting, is evident almost immediately.
