Anyone else annoyed with Irvin saying, "My Son" Dez?

I dont mind anyone praising our team, i think Irvin just over does it, i did mention that a couple of his quotes were hilarious see post #7, I just dont get the "My son comment" what does he mean by that? if you're that upset about my post feel free to put me on ignore.

I think it's about the "88 Legacy". That number was handed from one great player to another to another(we won't talk about that "other" Bryant). So I guess that would make Dez, Drew Pearson's grandson!

Irvin can say whatever he wants. Doesn't bother me a bit. He's one of the few pro-Cowboy people in the media.

I think we all love Irvin's fandom, but if Dez really were his son, we'd have to worry more about than him snorting coke and running women.

I believe Dez respects Mike, but he ain't running around yelling, my dad!

I think he is a little over the top, but to me it does balance out guys in the media like Donovan McNabb. Maybe Dez doesn't do all that, but I think his primary job is to entertain when he is on the field, Irvin does it during his "job". I don't know, I think I would feel very respected if a legend in my profession referred to me as their "son", when I am obviously not related.

No. It's a term of endearment; and Dez is wearing Michael's 88. Nothing but love there. I'm sure Dez is honored to be recognized in such a way by this Dallas Cowboy and NFL Hall of Famer.

I think its pretty Irvin is entertaining and weird. But I like it. If those that don't like Irvin should stop watching football and go and watch Walter Cronkite on 60 minutes.

I stopped watching NFLN's game day highlights due to the constant chattering between him and Deion. You can't even enjoy the highlights without both yapping and laughing interrupting the host who's trying to do the highlights. There's so much chaos on that show with everyone talking over each other I went back to NFL primetime on ESPN to watch the game highlights.
