l haven't eaten at the TG table since I was probably 10 years old. At first I was yelled at for a few years, now it's just accepted and known. I told my gf ofcourse I want you to come over but know you and no one else exists for 3 hours. Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for Tony Romo first and foremost, and then family. I Will now gladly accept your likes, just put them under the table. Im taking shelter after this post. Go Cowboys

We eat at the table before the game and then start round 2 in front of the TV during game time.

I time the turkey and the dinner to be ready at halftime. There is lots of eating, drinking, and comeraderie before that so when dinner is ready I eat at the table at halftime and then take my plate into the TV room for the 2nd half.

My mom times it for when the game is over. We have appetizers and the women drink sangria until it's over.

My family eats around 11AM lol on purpose so that we are only grazing and picking by the time our game is on. I can't eat at all during games. At all.

You folks eating early got it made. We usually run on cp time so the food is always seemingly ready just as the game is about to kick off  I scarf down round 1 at the table with everyone then enjoy the game.

Since getting married 10 years ago, we've been having the TG meal later, after the game.
We used to eat close to lunch time...so full tummy for the Dallas game.

For a few years now it has been at my uncle's house, the kitchen starts at the diagonal corner from the tv and i stand at the far end of the kitchen drinking and watch from there behind the island, through the doorway. Not sure how that started. It does allow me to appear social since people are all standing around the island.

I am Canadian so this is a non-issue for me. Happy Thanksgiving to you all though. We may be in different countries but we are brothers bound by the star.

Don't you guys have it in October? Isn't that when you eat poutine and drink milk from bags?

I don't want to be around non-fans during the games. we drive two cars to the in laws.

we eat by noon, and I leave about 20 minutes before kick-off, just in time to make it home for kick-off - leaving the wife and kids behind.

last line cracked me up

No, but we plan the meal for after the game every year. And we usually get it pre-ordered and just heat it up and make a few sides. That's because my wife would burn it or oversalt it or otherwise ruin it if left to her own devices, and I won't be bothered with meal-prep during the game.

Not really a fan of roast turkey, anyway, though (I know, sacrilege), so taking the short cut on Turkey Day isn't that big a deal in our house. I tried to talk the kids into prime rib this year (that can be prepped ahead of time and prepared with very little effort from there), but it was a complete no-go. Oh, well.

I don't enjoy watching the game in the crowd. I'm the hardest core in the group with a couple of bandwagon Pat's fans and the rest couldn't care less. So the routine is, go down a bit early and help mom out. Eat about 1:00 EST. Watch the rest of the Lions Game and be as sociable as I can. Say my goodbyes and leave in time to get home and walk the dogs a bit before kickoff. A couple buddies will stop by as soon as they can make their escape.
