I tend to not go home for Thanksgiving. I have to work Friday and Saturday(this is our last "fiscal" month of the year). It's something like 12 hours to go home and back. I watch the game in peace and quiet. Send the miss to her mothers.. and it's just me and the pups(and Blops/DOTA/football). Ahh, the life.

Sometimes I'll even take a nap after I eat. I'm never that interested in Detroit.

This is one year i'm interested in the Detroit game..hope they stomp the Eagles.

Then the Cowboys will know they are really in the playoff hunt.If we win and Washington does us a solid Sunday...We'll be one game out of first place with 5 to play..

Things could get really interesting then.

I used to miss a small chunk of the game when I was younger at Grandma's. Everyone ate upstairs while the game was on in the basement. Now I don't miss anything. The location varies but I travel with food to the TV.

l haven't eaten at the TG table since I was probably 10 years old. At first I was yelled at for a few years, now it's just accepted and known. I told my gf ofcourse I want you to come over but know you and no one else exists for 3 hours. Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for Tony Romo first and foremost, and then family. I Will now gladly accept your likes, just put them under the table. Im taking shelter after this post. Go Cowboys

LMAO!!!!

I don't want to be around non-fans during the games. we drive two cars to the in laws.

we eat by noon, and I leave about 20 minutes before kick-off, just in time to make it home for kick-off - leaving the wife and kids behind.

You are my hero. No kidding.

I hope you are kidding my leg because you half to put family first. Half you thought about eating the thanksgifting meal before or after the game?
What you are saying is not good family dinamics. Please put aside your football jones on this special day and join the dysfunctional family for a tag-team match, much eating and many old wounds reopened. That is the good old Armenian Way of Thanksgifting and togetherness.
Take me, I show up, uninvited but I always find a place at the table near Uncle Joe who half prison stories. Aunt Mimi hold it against me I did not go to art school like all British rockers and ma and paw they just shrug and tell the family I was left at the doorstep. But the food is good and the beer is almost 3% so we get along and half a swell time.
Eat with the fam! You will thank me one day.

We eat during the Detroit game but I plan my alcohol intake properly. I got so drunk before the 2006 game against the Bucs that I slept on the couch and completely missed the game.

I eat liquid bread during the game and solid foods after. Depending on how the game went, liquid bread will be reintroduced at a varying rate so as to either prolong the joy or induce amnesia.

We eat during the Lions game, around 1:00 but at midpoint of the 2nd qtr of the Cowboys game, the wife goes upstairs starts heating up leftovers and everyone that is still here feasts again at half time.
We usually have 30-40 people over so we make a lot of food.

Hell I'm stressed enough with 10. No way in hell I could do 30-40.

I don't enjoy watching the game in the crowd. I'm the hardest core in the group with a couple of bandwagon Pat's fans and the rest couldn't care less. So the routine is, go down a bit early and help mom out. Eat about 1:00 EST. Watch the rest of the Lions Game and be as sociable as I can. Say my goodbyes and leave in time to get home and walk the dogs a bit before kickoff. A couple buddies will stop by as soon as they can make their escape.

There's something to be said about tradition.
