Our Christmas Eve tradition is my wife’s homemade French Canadian tortiere around 10pm with a couple of bottles of Merlot, then over to sit around the tree and gab about the past year and listen to carols. The kids used to look at the gifts and guess what they were, then each got to open a small one before bed. Now they’re 21 and 23 years old and the convo is much more fun.

Needless to say, an afternoon Cowboys game fits the tradition perfectly and a W will make the evening that much better. If it’s an L, it just means a bit more wine…
What time should I be over? Will bring some pigs in a blanket to pair with that meat pie :flagwave:

How many of you are not watching the game this Sunday at 4est due to xmas eve plans? I know with my family, we will go to early mass and then out to dinner so I will absolutely miss all of it. I have spectrum streaming so can't even record to watch and when we get home from dinner have magic family time with the 3,7,9 year olds....needless to say, I am going to have to bypass this week due to scheduling.

Hopefully they get the win but curious how many of you are in the same predicament I am in and what you are doing to be able to watch later without knowing how it unfolded?

(PS this thread is not about not watching bc I don't want to or bc trying to make some dumb statement, so lets not make it about that please)
Majority of my extended family are cowboys fans, so we already know not to plan activities around times that the cowboys are playing. So nah I’m gonna be right in front of that tv watching them play

This is my first year in 29 years without kids in the house for Christmas. My second youngest got stationed in Germany, and I bought airline tix and game tix for my 17 year old to spend Christmas in Miami with his cousins for Christmas. I gave him his Grey Turpin jersey for Christmas early. He got there today and is walking around South Beach right now. He said it’s full of Cowboys fans.

I’m proposing to my girlfriend on Sunday so will probably miss the game live. Recording for later though.
You need to set the tone now. Put the ring on the table and tell her if the Cowboys win it’s yours, if they don’t we‘ll try again next week.

I'm watching the game I'm too old to miss things I enjoy.

I bought everybody enough good stuff for Christmas that it should keep them busy while I enjoy a couple hours of football

It's not too late to salvage this.

Start coughing a bit NOW...and mentioning (not complaining) about a mild sore throat

Then. On Friday and Saturday you increase your "symptoms" each day by 50%. By Sun morning... you will be full blown need to lay on the couch all day and night "sick"...wink wink.

BUT...if your a krappy actor. Just climb up on a ladder to "check your gutters", and take a nose dive into a bush from 15 feet up.

It'll bust you up pretty good...but the bush should give you a 75% chance of avoiding major debilitating injuries. A broken foot here, gash in the arm there.....and bip bam boom you get to wartch the game Sun night

You welcome
This is an awesome game plan for everyone that is hard core.. Im using it.

I can't steam it...stupid spectrum makes you be connected to home internet to watch and my wife would kick butt too....I will peek on the scores though

I'm going to try to watch it, but apparently I'm going to be at a Christmas party during the game. Luckily, I can get FOX on my phone through Spectrum.
