Anyone else watch very little NFL this year?

A fraction of what I've watched in the past. My wife even asked me about it, lol. I often forget about the Monday and Thursday games. Never watch the replays of the games I couldn't get anymore.

It's not any premeditated anti-NFL protest. I just don't care about what the league has turned into.

I have a bunch of small bets with friends every week on everything game related. If there happens to be nothing on one of the night games, Sunday, Monday, or Thursday, I'm not watching it. I'm at work!! Still not watching it. Unless it's the Cowboys.

Yea, for NFL definitely less than normal. Part is just having less free time, part is I just don't care as much. The NFL just doesn't seem as fun as it used to. When I was in my twenties and thirties I got euphoric if the 'Boys won or depressed if they lost. Now my peaks and valleys are "that's nice" and "oh well."

Funny how y'all "hate the NFL" but spend so much time on a football board to tell us that
This is also by far the least amount of time I’ve spent here this season. Judging by threads staying at the top for days, seems to be similar with everyone else.

I've always only watched Cowboys games, and maybe 2 total quarters of other games in a season. I don't care about some random GB vs Carolina game. This season, however, I've turned Cowboys games off at halftime several times.

I think this is a record for me for fewest NFL games I’ve watched this year. I’ve watched hardly any non cowboys games and I’ve probably only seen half the cowboys games start to finish.

The product is just boring to me. Regular season is meaningless. It’s just about who gets hot in January since you just have to be respectable to get in now.

I still love the draft but not the regular season.
You’re obviously not a diehard NFL fan. I love watching the NFL, been doing it consistently since the 72 season. I don’t find it boring at all. Some fans get put off watching games when the Cowboys aren’t performing well. No matter how the Cowboys are performing it doesn’t ruin my enjoyment of watching the other games. I’m not happy with some of the rule changes but everything evolves over time. To me games are more exciting than ever. TV technology with big screens and 4K has made watching the NFL even more enjoyable.

Agree....the NFL is crap. All the rule changes have ruined the game. You can't hit anyone anymore.....Refs dictate outcomes.....It's all fixed. Vegas now controls win and losses. It's all entertainment now....like the WWE. Nothing is real or genuine. I honestly would be shocked if this league is still functional in 20 years. 10 years....probably. There is too much money @ stake. But kids don't play anymore. Eventually....there isn't gong to be enough real talent to sustain a decent product. Plus....people are starting to see the shenanigans. They just will quit buying into it....like us.
That about sums it up.:hammer:

Fantasy football helps too.
^ I agree. About 50% of my decision-making for going with set fantasy rosters each week is watching how players and units perform against other teams. I watch approximately a half to full games of other teams involving active and benched players/units on my fantasy team for that reason.

It helps with waiving, trading and/or deciding to keep players on injured reserve also. The so-called fantasy gurus can often be very iffy with their advice and not consistently dependable. Analyzing level of play for yourself is much better for fantasy managers in my opinion. And watching more football instead of less pays off.

Anytime Dallas is bad, the league seems boring.
That’s the reason we’re seeing threads like this. A lot of fans are bummed. When the Cowboys aren’t doing well fans lose interest in the entire league, Fortunately that’s not me.

Hardly ever watch non Cowboys games, and not watching them as much as I have in the past.
Until Jerry steps down this team ain't doing squat and I am beyond frustrated by his amateur GM'ing.

Fans are down on the Cowboys and it’s resulted in less traffic on the board. I’ve noticed a number of regular posters have disappeared. Some that are still coming around aren’t posting as much. They’re all disappointed with season the Cowboys are having. However, there are fans like myself who still enjoy watching the other games and take part in the Sunday game chats. If the Cowboys were having a good season you wouldn’t be seeing threads like this.

Zero cowboys games start to finish. I don’t have 3.5 hours times 20 games (I used to watch every second of preseason too) for heartbreak anymore.

I watch Dallas and a few minutes of other games if time allows it.

i don’t think I’ve watched another game from start to finish outside of ours

Plus, nobody wants to see the Chiefs at the top anymore, if they ever did. The NFL needs the Cowboys. Jerry says no.
