McCarthy is a stooge, but he has two capable assistants who call all the plays and his roster is about as complete as you can get in the cap era. Top 5 defense and an offense that's average at worst.

So all he has to do is stand on the sidelines and clap, and we get 10+ wins and a wild card spot. The only possible thing that could get him fired after that kind of season is a 2009 Vikings level beatdown.

Only way MM is fired is if we get a first round beat down by Tampa or 49ers. We are talking like 44-6 type beat down like the Vikes gave us one year.

When has he said that? Matter of fact there was game this season where they mentioned he would want another head coaching job this season. I think he wants the right opportunity this time and not just any garbage team willing to hire him.

DQ knows you never get a 3rd HC chance, so he's likely not interested unless it is the perfect situation.

I expect he's waiting on Pete Carroll retiring. Particularly if that is soon and he can take advantage of the ton of picks they got in the Wilson deal.

I still think it comes down to playoff success. If he gets to the NFC championship I think he's back

Whether we like him or not…he will be back. And he should be. With Rush playing 5 games MM kept us in the playoff hunt. Under Garret we go 0-5 …
