I know Idgit...but I wish someone would take a swipe at Winicki. They just can't do it effectively over Bledsoe.

Oh, he's forum-legendary on DB , all right. No one beats a dead horse quite like Mikey. But he's smart enough to stagger his blows at decently paced intervels..either because he prefers toying with his victim before finishing it off, or his prime motive is filling that DB Bashing bandwagon before it inevitably derails when Romo is inserted.

I think it's both - he enjoys the foreplay AND he likes company.;)

Winicki owes something to Bledsoe - he was becoming irrelevant before Drew blew into town. His Eddie George refrain had been taken away, and his post 03 season 'do-nothingism' line aborted.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) for Winicki, when JJ and BP decided to actually DO something, it included bringing in his all time favorite QB.

And so his legend grows. :D

Thank you for the kind words B! I think!

I know who's giving the speech at my "Zone HOF Intro". ;)

No big plays last year? Glenn was always covered? Care to back that up with some #'s?
rec yrds tds ypc
Current year with TO : 25 337 3 13.5
Projected this year : 80 1078 10 13.5
Lasy year with Key : 62 1136 7 18.3

He may project to have as many more rec this year vs last, but look at the yards and ypc and tell me we didn't have big plays with Key last year. Now I like having TO vs Key also & think that TO & Glenn will get better as the year goes on (depending on DB of course), but don't just throw out remarks that simply are not true.

Uhm... I think he meant big plays by Key vs. TO, not big plays by Glenn w/Key vs. TO.

I am happy to hear that a 'heavy push' was made. But if it didn't come with starting wide out money, it was probably heavier in Key's mind than Jerry's or Bill's.
I think the offer was something like $1 million worth of Papa John's coupons.

I don't think that is what he meant, this is exactly what he said:

"With Key here, we couldn't make big plays."

We being the key word in that sentence

It wouldn't be the first time someone didn't express themselves correctly, and the other way makes more sense, wouldn't you agree?

Yes, i would agree, but the he added that Glenn couldn't get open last year because of Key, so I took what he wrote literally after that statement. I would agree if he meant it the way you stated it.

In fairness to Bledsoe, I don't recall him making any excuses in Dallas. He has his flaws, but he stands up like a man and faces the media and all his critics every time. I'm just as disappointed as anyone else when he telegraphs a pass to the opposition, but I've never known him to whine or point fingers since he has been a Cowboy. Even when he chastised Keyshawn for the fumble against the Eagles last year, he told him to his face like a man, not through the media. He may not be the best QB around, but he is a class act. That should count for something in this day and age of throwing teammates under the bus.

When he was talking on the radio, from the context, it seemed to me he meant, making excuses on the sideline, or in meetings,, not in public. For example, he said, that Jake will come to him and say I should have led you more, or I threw that ball to low,, where Drew would say,, you should have jumped higher or that ball was catchable if u did this.. or u did that.. and he said he didn't respect QB's like that at all.

Good example of the type of semantics employed.

The receiver already knows very well if he was at fault...and he doesn't need that reality sugar-coated. If he doesn't know, the tapes and OC will soon make it clear.

But by taking responsibility the QB lets him know three things - that he feels accountable for everything that happens on 'his' offense, that there is room for improvement by every player on every play, and that he is a leader secure enough to stand up to criticism..even that which he does not deserve.

You can often tell the great ones from the wannabes by the language they choose. For example, I recall a pick thrown by Jay Fiedler a few years back when it was clear miscomunication between the qb and Randy MacMichael was at a fault. Fielder, who was crumbling under media, fan, and perhaps even internal pressure said of the pick "we teach them to come back to the ball".

You overthrew, but he didn't adjust quick enough.

OK.

That one nailed ole Jay...it was said he lost his lockeroom support forever that day.

At least Drew DID send text messages to T, TO, and Jason saying "hang with me" after the Philly game...an implicit admission he had a bad game, and he knew patienc could quickly grow short (with Romo in the wings).

Then again, considering the double message inherent in 'hang with me', maybe they just hung up.

Key is right though, think about what Bledsoe has said after his 2 huge losses this season where he played absolutely atrociously... He has made excuses and didn't put any blame on himself at all, just referred to we every time.

He also uses the words "we" when he has a great game and the team wins. Besides, he knows what mistakes are his. I mean, here at my job i won’t take full blame if others are involved and i feel they had something to do with it. Also, id rather Bledsoe keep his confidence. He loses that and he’s done. From all i have seen, the dude is a stand up guy...well until he gets sacked ;)

Though I love Key, he didn't do much when Smith was out. He is no longer a lead receiver as for being a leader maybe I do see him as trying to be vocal one but like TO his sideline tirades can be a little tiring because deep down inside it is all about one thing "Get me the damn ball"

You really think that Keyshawn was better than Glenn?

Key is better at his role than Gleen would be in that role which is a big possesion WR who can go up make the tough catch and take the big hit. On the other hand Key will never be able to fill the role of Glenn a guy who can fly by CB and make the big plays down field. We are talking 2 different type of players and I think each are very good at what they do.

I dont recall Key dropping many passes while he was here, but I do recall him making a number of sensational grabs and making Bledsoe and VT look good...

people might not like Keyshawn or something, but the guy left it all on the field when he was here...he was a good player who did everyhting he was asked and then some

David

true, but I'd take TO over him
