Anyone seen my new hero, Tony Franklin, defending McBriar?

Classy to come to the support of a holder. He basically said that a good kicker will learn to variations in the hold. Good on Franklin and good on McBriar. Further, Franklin said he didn't see anything wrong with the hold that Folky missed.

Franklin showed a lot more class than Folk has shown to McBriar.

Funny, everything I have read from Folk he has taken the blame. He had one moment where he looked back at the holder in the heat of the moment .. beyond that, the only negative comments I've been hearing have been coming from McBriar.

That being said, most people are assuming that if the ball is vertical and laces are away from the kicker, it's not the holder's fault. However, as someone who went to a kicking camp in my younger days, I can tell you that if the ball is off spot by two or more inches, the kick will be bad even if it appears to be set correctly.

You sure you haven't heqrd nuthin negative from Folky to McBriar? Golly.

OK, fair enough, Mr. Summer Kicking Camp, so I guess that balances out Tony Franklin's view.

I'm not blaming Folk or McBriar .. I honestly don't care whose fault it is .. the only thing that matters is that it gets fixed.

The bottom line is that the last two years with Brad Johnson, Folk was one of the best in the league. This year with McBriar, he's not even an average kicker.

You can blame it on the holder change or you can blame it on Folk due to his off-season surgery or simply a confidence problem, but something needs to change. Either they need to change holders or they need to change kickers. The only other choice is to avoid kicking field goals and going for it on 4th down every time they are in field goal range.

It's been years since I have been on a thread with you Reality...

good points about the situation. Maybe Romo will be a steadying influence on the still young kicker.

I think the humor between the two was shown when McBriar stated that he would buy Folk a beer for making a kick, AFTER he made one....:)

What is the point of defending someone (McBriar) who has already admitted he has screwed up multiple times? Just admit your wrong and get over it. It's not like it is something new for you. You should be used to it by now.
