Anyone still wish we'd taken Moss instead of Ellis?

This guy is a moron. Not for doing it (I don't think MJ is any worse then alcohol), but for ADMITTING to it.

I think Moss is an idiot. He's a pretty good reciever when he wants to be, but unfortunately you don't have to be intelligent to play the position. (I played it in highchool. :) )

I like Ellis, but I wanted Moss on draft day, and haven't seen any reason why we shouldn't have drafted him since. I don't advocate the use of marijuana, never have done it myself, but he states that he's never let it interfere with his job, so it's not a big deal to me.

If it makes him feel better to talk about it, it's not mine or anybody else's place to judge him...

I don't care if he smokes pocket lint sprinkled with powdered sugar, still the best receiver in the league.

Jerry Jones was under a lot of public pressure to clean-up the Cowboys' image that year. His decision continues to be validated from that perspective.

Jerry was and is criticized for not drafting Moss and would have been criticized if he had drafted Moss.

I agree. Jones was trying to clean up the team’s image and selecting Moss would have created a fire storm of him not being serious about cleaning up this team. We were dealing with players constantly getting into the headline and a lineman who dies from an overdose.

Still wish we got Moss, so what if he did or has. All of those years of great numbers would have been worth it by far.

Ill take Moss and his numbers for his short time as a Viking then Ellis whole career as a cowboy.

i'm not going to judge him for what he does. Lord knows I've done some stupid things in the past. If I were in his shoes, I wouldn't have said that. He's just asking for multiple random tests.

same here. But,the past is the past.If you admit to a cop you "were" speeding,he can't give you a ticket for it.the cop has to have proof. So will the NFL.

Thing is no one is paying you millions of dollar, the ideal that we should not judge these guys why not? we do it all the time. We judge how they play we judge their actions it comes along with the job and the big money. No doubt it is hot under the spotlight but it comes with the job!!

I think it was closer to 20 teams. Dallas tried to trade down and still grab Ellis later on in the first round. No takers. Perhaps things would have looked different if Ellis was not a #8 pick.

I think Ellis has served Dallas very well, but some people hold it against him that he was a top ten pick and isn't Moss.

Moss defintley would have put up the same type of numbers or better here in Dallas. I know at the time I was hoping Dallas would draft him, but I understood why they probably wouldn't it. There is no guarantee that Moss would have lifted Dallas to another Superbowl, but things could have been different with him around. Much different.

Irvin may not have been injured and found to have a career ending spinal condition. Rocket would not have been signed. Then 2-#1 picks would not have been used on Galloway. Any number of things could have occurred. Rany Moss could have imploded playing under the pressure of being a Dallas Cowboy and expected to win a Superbowl. I would think living in Dallas is a lot different than living in Minneapolis, so more trouble could have occurred for him. Who knows? At this point Idon't really care.

for those that wish we'd have drafted this thug loser, whats he helped Minnesota win? what playoff games did he ever dominate? The guy is an embarrassment to the league with his me first attitude, all the off field probs and now admitting (wow, what a surprise) that he's a pot head

wonder if he's gonna get a 5 game suspension like Irvin did in 1996? I'm sure we'll see the league spin doctors say something stupid like "well, but Moss has never failed a drug test" and the media idiots will buy that, but Irvin never had a positive drug test either

Moss= LOSER

right they can't bust him for smoking weed if he passes a drug test. but, now they know he has done it since he has been in the league. they will keep tabs on him.
