Man, I have not seen a single thing out of Ronnie Brown that makes me think he is going to be a good one.

As I type this he has 10 carries for 12 yards.

Maybe not tonight. But he showed some good stuff last year. He is a complete back, every bit as good a receiver as a runner. I really like his prospects.

wow!...1.2 yds per carry

again, if JuJo did that against ANY team, people would be asking for him to be dumped immediately

It may come as some surprise, but some people don't base their entire opinions on 2 quarters of preseason play. If you were watching this game, you would also have realized that despite the horrible run-blocking, RB has looked good--avoiding quite a few tackles that would make his stats even worse (due to the absurd amount of backfield penetration).

Yeah, I do not get it David.

I am still a believer in JJ. He is a big time threat on any given play and if he had some semblance of run blocking I think you would see a more consistent 4.3 to 4.5 yards a carry kind of back.

You definitely could be right, but he was the #2 overall pick last year and I have not seen anything to indicate he was worthy of that.

He appears to be a solid guy, but nothing spectacular. Of course that is merely my opinion, but I think this year will be a better indicator of what RB is capable of.

Why is it such a crime when someone compliments another team's player or thinks another player is better than one of ours?

wow, definitely didn't mean to start a RB-JJ war or controversy I was mostly just saying that I like the way RB runs. I don't dislike JJ at all.
I also didn't mean to imply that there was anything in reality to lead anyone to presume there was a chance of an actual trade like that.

Look what you have gone and done now!!! J/K:D

Makes for a good thread.

Who said it was a crime? I'm just having some fun during a boring preseason game.

It was his first year. He only finished with about 100 less total yards than his counterpart Cadillac, who had about 50 more opportunities than Brown, and 5,000 more accolades heaped upon him. Believe me, Brown showed a good deal his first year in the league. We still have to see if he can be a feature back, and once he does that, he'll be one of the best in the league, IMO.

NO KIDDING!!!
could it be possible...that perhaps both players are good?
People getting fighting mad that someone thinks a player on another team is better than a player on our team.
Someone will tell me that I'm not a real Cowboy fan at some point...

Thats the beauty of it, real football is around the corner and many questions will be answered.

Can't you replace Ronnie Brown's name with Julius Jones there? Who wasn't a Julius Jones fan after his rookie year?

guess I better not start those threads about wanting to trade Witten for Gonzalez, Roy for Palmolive, Flo for Walter Jones, or Romo for Hasselback...this board might explode...

Then again, we weren't going against Carolina's front seven in our first 2 games either.

Brown has been met in the back field immediately after the handoff in at least 3 runs so far. It's ridiculous.

It's amazing what JuJo did against these guys on Christmas eve.

no way JJ could've made a halfback pass like RB just did!

I think that was more Chambers making Harrington look solid, especially the sideline grab. Those throws had some zip though.

Granted there were some nice catches, the ball placement was nice and like you said they had zip.
