again, try reading bro. I didnt say they would finish 16-0 I said I dont remember ever watching a team at this time of the year and thinking 16-0 is a possibility, maybe one of those niners teams, In 1990 it was hard to believe the niners were ever going to get beat, they looked faster, smarter and flat out more talented than everyone.

They didnt go 16-0 and they lost at home in the nfc championship.

I feel like this pats team can play any style, THey can spread you out and play in a shootout, they can play two tight ends and run on kyle brady's side in a 13-10 type game you would expect in baltimore and they can play the balanced game that it takes to beat indy.

I just dont see anyone else with the talent level, coaching and quarterback as new england.

They look like men among boys tonight and they dont appear to be trying all that hard.

your basing this off preseason...and honestly we've looked better than them in preseason, so does that mean we can be 16-0 too?

and how you could think the Pats could be a 16-0 team and not the 1993 Cowboys says alot...that team was EONS deeper, more talented, better skills guys, great coaching etc etc

Dude, you said it was a "real possibility" that they'd go 16-0. I read it, because you typed it.

You get kind of whiny when people disagree with you.

I am not being whiny, You guys are breaking my chops so I am responding.

I dont think they will go 16-0 as I said. Unlike the colts last year, I wouldnt be suprised if they did with what they have.

If you dont like me dont respond to me. Everytime I have ever tried to talk to you get this way, with your comments.

No, I like you just fine. But you clearly implicated that you thought they could go 16-0 and then tried to act as if I couldn't read. I read your post just fine.

The league was better then, The division although not as strong as the few previous years was still very good. It was very difficult to do it then. It doesnt say alot, not sure what you are insinuating.

I feel like the pats are a team that could play with those teams from that era and when you put that kind of talent against some of the teams in this league today I just feel like they are head and shoulders above them.

I dont feel like there is a team as good as sf that Dallas had to deal with back then. Indy is a good organization but I think they are going to get beat up pretty good by new england this year.

I am not just basing it off preseason, I am basing it off the makeup of this team, They are extremely talented. From what everyone knows about them from the past 6 years and the talent they have, I really feel they are going to be dominant.

As far as them having to play cincy, indy, pittsburgh, Dallas and Philadelphia, what does that mean? You think cincy stands a chance of stopping them? you think pittsburgh can run on them? As far as Dallas and Philly go, I think we are a notch lower in talent. Dallas and Philly will have to play a perfect game to beat them.

I cant wait for that game, I hope we do but it is going to be tough. They have a knack for forcing other teams weaknesses and then forcing mistakes through that. I think they do that better than anyone.

Their test will be indy and san diego. I think San diego is the biggest threat because of what they can do defensively. Like I said someone will get them, they always struggle against miami and buffalo has played them really tough the last two years.

The Pats will definitely be good... But man, Carolina looks terrible for the second week in a row. Wasn't it just last week that the Eagles killed them?

It's hard to say, because the Pats and Eagles might be two of the best teams in the whole NFL. But if I'm a Panthers fan, I'm pretty worried. This team might just implode this year.

The Panthers have ALOT of football heart-it's easy why everyone gives them the benefit of the doubt all the time.

However-they ARE getting old. The OL is injury prone and on the wrong side of 30, as well as most of the D. Their window has closed.

New England is not the overwhelming juggernaut you are making them out to be, and their talent is not substancially more than a number of the other good teams...their OL is above average...their secondary is average at best, even with Samuel...

and this Pats team couldnt stay within 2 or 3 tds of the dominant Dallas teams of the early-mid 90's...they might once or twice out of 10 times, but more often than not they'd get drummed...he'll they'd get drummed by the Bills and Niners teams of those yrs

Did I say they would win in that era? I said they could compete. They havent done all this winning on accident you know.

The bills, niners, cowboys were all better teams. I am not saying they would win, I just feel if you put them on the field with them they would be right there, I dont think they are 3 td's worse.

Now some of the other superbowl champs in the last 10 years or other playoff teams in the last 5 years, they would be done at the national anthem.

You think only their ol is above average? Their linebackers and defensive line are above average too, they are not just talented they are smart and well organized.

again, I think their ability to play any style from week to week is what will make them so good. Most teams "do what they do" I think the pats can adapt and do what it takes to win. I am not sure more than maybe 5 teams can say that.

The Pats look like a well oiled machine. They placed an emphasis on the run early and shoved it right down Carolina's throats after a slow start. You could tell they wanted to just work on the run game. They had an agenda and didn't necessarily play according to the game flow. I like how they came out and drove all shotgun spread in the second half. This is whithout Samuel and Moss. They're certainly not invicible but they look damn good. Well coached... great execution.

Ultimately, coaching AND team chemistry means EVERYTHING. Look at the Midgets-too many chiefs, too few indians=locker room implosion.

As for injuries, lots of teams have them. Heck, we were the healthiest team in the league last year. Did the Ellis injury hurt us? Likely-but even WITH a healthy Ellis in previous Dec games, we still stunk up the joint. OTOH, a number of powerhouse teams(i.e. Indy, Chicago, New Orleans, NE, Philly, etc) had key injuries that had "the season is over" written all over them, but they nonetheless went on their business.

I'm intrigued by the Pats new found depth at the WR position. May be worth keeping an eye on their waiver wires next week.

They were also without Ty Warren and Richard Seymour.

Seymour is a stud, best defensive player they have.

One of the big mistakes the Eagles made with Donte Stallworth was TRYING to make him the #1(the possession guy et al) receiver. Having lived in New Orleans for years, I knew Stallworth wouldn't be gangbusters for them(unlike most Eagles posters were like last year when he was traded).

With that being said-with the Pats' depth at WR, it looks like Belichick and McDaniels will be smart and utilize Stallworth's talents(i.e. primarily stretching the field) properly.

It will be interesting to see how cohesive a unit they become on offense. Brady seems as though he can adapt to anything. N.E. looks like the manifestation of years of great drafting and F.O. decisions. They just plug the right pieces in and keep marching on.

I'll go there ... Dallas 16-0. If I'm going to talk perfect records, I'm going to be a homer about it. :D
