Archer: The Cowboys made an offer to Dak within the last week

Question is was the offer before or after Daks comments about great QB playing elsewhere
That’s the million dollar question. The couple interviews Dak has made reference to playing somewhere else. Were these comments made before the offer or after. If the comments were made after the offer than that’s very telling how he feels about it. I wish someone would give a date as opposed to the generic “last week”.

My gut still tells me Stephen made a “final offer” and it wasn’t what Dak and France wanted. Pure speculation on my part but I find it odd that a player in a contract negotiation has dropped playing for another team as much as Dak has. Stay tuned I guess, the show never stops.

Oh and to the OP, thanks for posting this. I also didn’t know they made him an offer recently. Thanks for the info.

I think Dak's market value is $60M/yr and his true value is closer to $30M or $40M.

It's not a Dak thing, it's a QB market thing. I actually like Dak more than most fans here. But QB salaries are out of whack.
This is dead on. I would sign Dak to a 30 or 40 APY in a heartbeat and build a team around him. Then get to the playoffs and hope he mentally improves. Or if he had a strong team in the trenches he can play loose knowing he doesn’t have to do it all.

But signing Dak at 60 or 60+ would put the pressure on Dak to do it all and we’ve seen how that doesn’t work. I’m really frustrated with the QB salaries being so out of whack and how it’s hurting the NFL. It’s like if you’re a starter (Love) and your contract is up you get 50+ million.

All stars in negotiations use different tactics as part of the process. Nothing new.

Lol. Thanks. Keep me posted. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your honesty. You may want to seek some therapy. Google “therapists near me” and in your initial intake tell the therapist you attacked a complete stranger online for sharing his opinion about a guy you don’t know. Good luck.
I would've said, "well you're Sisters gut is full of something else after last night" but I am a horrible person. Props on your measured response....

I said this in another post. Either Dak is negotiating through the media or he turned down Stephen’s last offer. We’ll see. I do agree that it’s a wise negotiating move on Dak’s part to drop nuggets of leaving to the media to get the fans to panic and put pressure on the Joneses. If that’s what he’s doing then that’s pretty smart TBH. We’ll see, but I agree it could be negotiating and a smart way to do it if you want to get paid.

Signing Dak is a great business move but if you want to win titles than kiss that goodbye.

Your purchasing relevancy is all if you give him a big contract.
Just your opinion which that and $5 will get you a cup of coffee somewhere.

That’s just Dak in collusion with Jerry to keep the conversation relevant.

Did I miss something? Sorry if this is a repost...........

Cowboys offered Lamb 48 million per season for 5 years totalling 240 million. They offered Dak 5 years at 500 million total with 350 million guaranteed. Both players turned them down.

Fans on the forum blast the FO for not getting these players signed.

smart? Nope. Ive thought we should sign Dak, but if he hasnt immediately accepted what is likely the largest deal in NFL history... im at the point where I dont care if he leaves. Hardly panic.

Maybe but the mere fact they MADE an offer to Dak within the last week speaks volumes IMO. You waste time making him an offer unless you are seriously trying to sign him and make no mistake, Stephen knows exactly what it will take.
so his agent says we want 70 million. And somehow, its the FO faut for not getting it done?

Funny thing is, you aren't far off. No one would ever side with Jethro... I get it BUT the inmates are trying to run the asylums across the NFL Time to take a side I guess.

It wasn't an attack, it was more of an observation.

I already have. Im 54 years old, so this ain tmy 1st rodeo, so to speak, when it comes to players holding out. i normally dont really care, because i know that deals will always get done. But I swear these players are too uch into the Cowboys hype and publicity, and it is really hurting us as far as signing players. I brought this up a few years ago and people laughed. Look at Tyler Biadasz.... he was solid, and he got 3 years for 20 million... he wasnt great, but hes a Cowboy. He is on TV almost every week in nationally televised games. It clearly helps these guys when it comes to free agency. There is no doubt in my mind. Now Lamb,,,,.especially Lamb.... he thinks he is THE BEST WR in the game because he had a monster year with 20000 targets last year?

He is good and I love the guy. But if I had to chose him over Jefferson, I know who Im taking, and it aint Lamb. Yet he is wanting more than Jefferson. Tghis is messed up.
