Are Cowboys still "Americas Team"?

I lived in MD., Dallas/Garland, Waikiki, San Jose, Vegas... and if I could move back to DALLAS I would just to see my Boys!!!

Hey but the "Americas Team" is just a nickname from the 70s its not a TITLE... thats what they did back then they gave nicknames to Players and teams!!! I tell people you cant lose your nickname just because u r not as good or someone is better, they have to get their own nickname!!! As it goes with nicknames someone has to give it to u, u cant just start calling yourself a nickname!!!

u dont hear people calling the BROWNS the "ORANGE CRUSH" or the RAVENS the "Purple People Eators" they r nicknames and so is Americas Team... Cowboy haters wanna take the name away and give to their own team because they think its a TITLE like Doctor or JUDGE... but its a nickname!!! You dont hear people calling Cal Ripken the Iron Horse...

In fact, the nickname "AMERICAs team" was not given because the Cowboys were the BEST it was given because Everyone in America loves the underdog and in the 70s the BOYS were the underdogs on the BIGGEST stage!!! The Cowboys had more fans who wanted them to win because they were sick of the STEELERS... fans in OAKLAND, CLEVELAND, B-MORE, MINNESOTA, MIAMI just to name a few!!!

Live in philadelphia, have always lived here or in surounding suburbs and have always been a cowboys fan. I run into cowboys fans up here all the time. met one at the mall yesterday.

New Yuk here.
Hate the gnats.
Jets are ok, but there fans can be real, A--HOLES!!
I have blead Cowboy blue since 1972!:starspin
I run into alot of Cowboy fans up here also.

From Northern Virginia (skins country) but have lived in Florida now for more then 10 years. Became a Cowboy fan when George Allen was Skins HC. Hated that man so much I became a Cowboys plan. Hate his son too; he only got elected cause of who his Dad was.

I'm in Nashville, through Pennsylvania by way of Louisianna.

I get around. Have always been and always be a Cowboys fan and to not be a Cowboys fan is downright unpatriotic.

:a-team:

I'm in TN and in the middle of Titan, Rams and Falcons country but the local Fox station still shows most of our games. Only one I missed last season was the Arizona game.

When living in Calif. I was about 90 miles from S.F. Every time I went to town I would see 2 or 3 people wearing Cowboys gear, in addition to myself. When the Whiners were winning you would see a lot of thier hats, coats etc. But when the weren't having a winning season, you might see one person with Whiners gear on every 2nd or 3rd time you went to town.

The Cowboys fans were pretty consistent in showing their colors.

Sounds like the Univ of Tenn fans down here. Before they won the national championship in 98 you'd see and occasional UT fan. After they won they were every where. :banghead:

Silver Spring, MD right outside of D.C. and yes I've been to Texas before. So many Dallas fans in the DC metropolitan .. it drives skins fans insane.

I live in the soon to be annexed "New West Texas" :). Since one in five people can locate New Mexico on a map .

Live in Alexandria, Virginia but originally from Texas. I couldn't believe there's so many Cowboy fans out here in the DC area. Are the Cowboys the 2nd largest NFL fanbase in this area behind the foreskins, of course?

I can tell you the Cowboys are still Americas team. We have people traveling from all over to watch the Cowboys play. There are still alot of away stadiums that we play in where Cowboy fane dominate the home crowd. Winning again will only remind all the hates out there that the Cowboys are and forever will be Americas Team.

While this may apply more to Cowboys than other teams, I do not know, but every team has fans who travel with the team week in and week out. The Steelers come to mind, probably going 40/60 with Browns fans in Cleveland. The Steelers national fanbase exceeds any other teams, I believe. It shows, too.

i've lived in the northern virgina and D.C. area for nearly 20 years now. still going strong for the cowboys...

funny thing is, my father is a Giants fan, my mother a Commanders fan, and my uncle a eagles fan. my family sucks.
