I grew up in Arkansas, which is how I first started following the Cowboys when I was a kid. I was stationed in Washington, DC in the Army, then moved to Philadelphia for work and have since transferred to St. Louis to be closer to Arkansas. Out of all the places I've lived, it was hardest being a Cowboys fan when I lived in Philly (of course it didn't help that I always displayed my Cowboys flag in my office at work! That drove those Eagles fans crazy!)

When living in Calif. I was about 90 miles from S.F. Every time I went to town I would see 2 or 3 people wearing Cowboys gear, in addition to myself. When the Whiners were winning you would see a lot of thier hats, coats etc. But when the weren't having a winning season, you might see one person with Whiners gear on every 2nd or 3rd time you went to town.

The Cowboys fans were pretty consistent in showing their colors.

Bills fans were like that too. In the 80's, up until Marv Levy came along and they started having success, you couldn't find a Bills fan if Ralph Wilson could levitate and started passing out $20 bills. Then they suddenly appeared everywhere.

It's still a steadfast belief of mine and many of my friends that at least 50% of the Bills fans in NY are just old, embittered Jets or Giants fans who couldn't take it anymore.

Grew up in Eastern Canada in Montreal, moved out west when I was 14. Always been a Cowboys' fan.

I've been to three games in Seattle and each time, the Cowboys had a good 15-20000 fans, most from the Northwest, not many had travelled for the game.

According to the Harris Poll, Dallas has been, and still remains in the Top 5 of Americas favorite team rating 2nd behind Green Bay. Green bay made a huge surge in popularity once favre arrived and the tradition of winning was reborn to the Packers.

But Dallas has been in the Top 5 of Harris' Poll since it started polling, and has been #1 more than any other NFL team.

The Harris Poll® #74, September 28, 2005

Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys Remain Nation’s Favorite NFL Teams, According to Harris Poll
U.S. adults who follow pro football pick the New England Patriots to win the Super Bowl in January

Once again this year, the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys remain no.1 and no. 2 respectively in the annual Harris Poll of the nation’s favorite professional football teams, among US adults who follow pro football. Support for the Cowboys remains the same, while the Packers support has slipped a bit from last year. Rounding out the top five teams are the New England Patriots and both Pennsylvania teams: the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles.

These are the results of a nationwide survey conducted online by Harris Interactive® between September 6 and 12, 2005 among 2,242 U.S. adults, of whom 1,135 follow professional football.
