Are Crayton's days as a Cowboy numbered?

I like Crayton and I would like to see him in the slot I think he is a great fit at that position.

I would cut him after the season, draft a couple of wr's and maybe pick up another cheap vet through FA. Crayton is about the softest, least focused player on the team.

I'm not really high or low on Crayton. If he leaves, he can be replaced pretty easily...If he stays, we know what we've got in him.

I don't think he's untouchable by any means, nor would I shed a tear if were traded/cut/not resigned

At least he stay's healthy.. Can't say that for alot of guys on this team.. Everybody is High on Austin right now.. A couple of months ago he was injury prone.. Opinions around here change week to week..

In truth, every single player's days are numbered with any team. No one lasts for infinity.

Yes, I think Crayton will now be phased out.

Possible, but if we're going to get rid of him I would hope we would at least get something in return.

Crayton + Cash to Oakland for Asomugha. Al Davis will do it.

That wouldn't be a bad idea at all.

I was a big Crayton fan during his first couple of seasons even though he didn't get much if any playing time. At that time, I felt we had our future number 2 receiver ready to start in a couple of years.

I don't think it is a case of him being lazy but rather losing concentration at times. He has dropped easy passes and caught very tough to catch passes. It seems when the pressure is lower, he does not concentrate as diligently as he should.

I also think many of the fans and coaches had too high of expectations from him. It was easy to have those expectations when teams were rolling defenses toward TO's side and Crayton having more opportunities to make plays.

The reality is that Crayton has good hands but is best suited as the number 3 (slot) receiver. He makes his cuts very tightly and quickly but when he lines up outside, he has a hard time creating separation.

Crayton is at his best when he has routes that take him left and right rather than being limited to straight ahead or one sided routes that most outside receivers are limited to.

:starspin This is true too. But I also believe the trade for the conerback from Oakland, if the Cowboys could do that would be nice. :starspin

:starspin But overall, Patrick Crayton is made to be more on the inside than the outside, which slot allows him to be more closer to the quarterback. I believe the Cowboys took him out of position when they started him on the otherside of Roy Williams. :starspin

:starspin I also, believe if the Cowboys decided to trade Patrick Crayton this year they wouldn't miss him, why? Kevin Olgetree, Sam Hurd, and Jessie Holley/or Matt Jones.....:starspin

Yeah! We could get Nnamdi Asomugha for that.

:madden:

When will people ever learn this game?

Well, I guess I would trade Patrick Crayton and a 5th Round draft choice for Michael Huff.

Of course you would, he was once a 1st round Draft pick. It doesn't matter what he can offer the team.

Crayton is best in the slot, but we could try to trade in the offseason

Hurd unless he shows us something, will be gone

Austin let's hope he can keep it going

While I am all for giving Miles some more chances, and I also understand that sometimes you need to send a message to a team if not a particular player, I still think Crayton has significant value to this team.

Honestly I'd be just fine having Crayton continue to return punts. He's not explosive but I still believe he has good hands. I also think he's a pretty savvy player overall. I'm not convinced he won't be back there yet again this year. I'll believe Rossum is a definitive upgrade when I see it.

Slot receiver works just fine for me on offense and probably a bit more to his strengths as well.

He had a bad game Sunday, and I'm fine disciplining him accordingly if that is part of this. I'm just saying he's still a valuable part of this team IMO.

That said, if Miles and Roy really establish themselves this season (big IF IMO) and we need to clear space to make way for some young talent in the offseason, Pat shouldn't be untouchable.

Jerry drafting a WR in the draft?

He hasn't done that in years.
Really? I could have sworn we drafted Manuel Johnson out of Oklahoma this year.

TO was long gone before you joined the site. Maybe you might want to let go and get some facts.

Last first day WR was Bryant I think, in 2002.

Can't even remember off the top of my head who was before that.

Its not like its been an emphasis.
