Are Dak's Problems Mostly Mental or Physical?

If you're content with 1 playoff win in 6 seasons and an offense that does an MIA against good teams then bud you are a better man than I am!!
Who said I was content with that? I just know our team have bigger problems than the qb.

7 Pts in 3 Quarters of football at home vs a wildcard team and not being able to beat playoff teams will put the spotlight on Mr.Greed......o_O
P.S.We held the Chiefs in their house to 19 pts and managed a whopping 3 Field goals?????????
You can go back and look at several games in the last few years where the defense held some good teams to low scores, but the offense totally disappeared. After hearing about how the offense was going to be unstoppable with the best WRs and RB , they failed to recognize that the QB was incapable of using the weapons that was at his disposal. There is no need to draft another WR early in the draft. The QB can’t find the ones that are already on the team. They don’t need another WR that gets open, but is rarely thrown to.

It begins mentally because there is no person on this earth more aware of how overpaid some think Prescott is than he is. He was defending his contract before it was done. He is more than aware of the criticism he gets and he does understand that comes with that particular position on that particular team because he directed that at his predecessor before he got drafted. Remember that? He came in eyes wide open about being the DC QB.

When a QB makes a mistake, it does get blown out a little but when he's the 2nd highest paid at the time, it is way out of proportion. Everything is magnified and discussed to death, just like the "slump". It is and always has been inherent in DFW media, they help keep that Cowboys country thing going.

He is overly concerned with making a mistake. You will not see Allen, Mahomes or Rodgers change their game conservatively because they got more money. In fact, they had to get Mahomes under control he was so wild. But then those players can lose the big game and take it in stride but the DC QB has to steel up against it because it will get discussed ad nauseum and in poor proportion to the good things he did. I also think it would have been better if he'd not joined the endorsement circus so quickly as that image thing plays in this as well.

If I were the owner of this team, the first thing I would do is call Prescott in and suggest he do one of two things. Either sell his place and rent and buy somewhere else as home base or when not in season, including OTA's, get the hell out of the Metroplex, it is toxic. Travel all the time and do not read the local rags or access local sports programs.

We hear these players and most celebrities say this all the time "oh that, I don't pay any attention to that. I don't even read or watch that". Liars!!!!! What are you, not human? LMAO, this is the only social media I do but if I were to tell you that I am going on Facebook and start talking about some of the members on here, all of you would sign up just for that. And you folks are anonymous but it is human nature, someone is talking about you, you cannot ignore it. And the more critical, exaggerated or untrue, the more attention we pay to it.

Prescott's brother doesn't do his fighting for him; he responds to how this all affects him. He wanted to be the DC QB since he was a kid, why? Because he saw that job in football as the best to have and very special and he wanted to be loved. That's what drove Don Meredith out early, he could not handle the way he was treated by the fans, his hometown fans.

I do not know how sensitive an individual Dak Prescott is but I do know the stories his high school coach told about his backstage Mom and the battles she fought for him. I know his brother is trying to fight some of those for him right now. I do think he struggles to handle those booing him to look through and see those cheering for him.

They have sports psychologists for a very good reason. And he needs the best one he can find.
Well said.

lol, if I wanted to watch a sob story, I'd go watch old yellow. The Dallas Cowboys are a machine, if the key piece of the machine is a wobbling POC, you replace it, you don't wait until it falls off. "let's run it for a couple more years, it's good enough to make it run, don't fix it now."

lmao proven wrong? lmao, we can in turn call you a dak troll who cares nothing about the cowboys, just about your hero dak
dak hasn't proven anything, except he's a very slow reader of defense and plays in fear, and his best years have been when zeke carried him.
:D
Did he "play in fear" the first half of the season? Did Zeke carry him to 12-5? He had ALOT of passing yards for a qb who is a slow reader of defenses... BUT that's not saying there isn't a ton of room for improvement. But slow? Nah.

*Seeing how he had close to 4,500yds. last year being "slow", if he learns to read faster I guess 8,000 yds isn't too far off lol *sarcasm*

LOL. another eye test specialist....

Like I said...why even watch the game? Why even be HERE if you don;t eyeball the game?

You think stats tell the whole story. I don;t. I think you need to watch what's happening too. No need to insult each other about like children. Unless you are one? That's no problem either.

Dak's greatest problem is fan perception.

At one point in the season he was the #1 rated passer in the league. This was despite a limited running game, porous blocking, atrocious play calling, inconsistent receiving, and questionable effort by the offense overall.
It's interesting that all of those things happened at around the same time last season, but for some reason it's all on Prescott.

nine QB's had 4000+ yards.

5 more were just a few hundred yards short.

That stat is not necessarily as impressive as you think.

FYI: No...I did NOT say "dak sucks".

Very mature response. So I'll pencil you in with the other Prescott trolls who refuse adult conversations.
Have you ever actually played the game at a competitive level?People who haven’t are great w/ a keyboard looking up stats and metrics and analytics and do their fantasy football.Unless you’ve actually played, there are certain aspects of the game that you will never understand no matter how much you look up stats……FACTS!!!!!!

No, there are no receiver "comfort" stats, but there are "bad throw" and "on target" stats on profootballreference.com... which actually backs up "eye test". But people don't believe those so, believe what you want... I guess.
I detect some sarcasm on my "comfort" comment.

It just means the receiver can catch the ball in stride and without reaching up down behind.

I cite the 2021 Bucs-Cowboys game...and you can CLEARY see a big difference in the "comfort" level of the receivers.

I will check your link.

how many of those super wins was in the division?
hum, let me find his scouting report.
hum needs to speed up his reads in the NFL. well, that hasn't happened, and the offensive line has to hold because they know it takes forever for dak to find someone before he goes into total terror.
good try. let's keep band-aiding the QB position until a real one comes along. who cares if we waste another 10 years garretting him. go Dallas prescottboys!!

dang I just seen his scouting report.

Prospect Grade
5.90
Average Backup Or Special-Teamer sounds about right!

Lmao, It's ok that you don't use facts to form your opinion. Your "eye test" and blatant disregard for metrics that compare positions have gotten you this far!
So you don;t "use your eyes" for this? You just cite whatever stat you think support your opinion?

I'm going to quote a very smart man. You can buy or not:

"There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics."

Somewhere in the middle it Truth. Why can;t we meet there? Because we'd rather bully people on the internet about it.

Mock "the eye test" as if nobody can see and process ANYTHING...with eyes?

Accuracy on intermediate and deep throws dropped sharply
Pocket poise has been compromised
Hyper aware of pressure around him and lacks the awareness to slide and find temporary shelter to make the throw
Concern over pressure too often trumps the ability to get through progressions
Must speed up the pace of his reads
Footwork is a mess
Slight stride onto stiff upper leg with little weight shift
Restricted follow through and too often tries to muscle throws with upper body
Throws to target rather than leading or throwing them open on short/intermediate throws
Too respectful of underneath coverage and must be more willing to challenge the defense
Needs to improve anticipation

I'm mocking anyone on a fan forum who blames wins and losses on one player, who calls fans names and trashes them for being a fan and then suggests that they somehow are the authority of their "eye test.'

Be more cliche, I dare ya.
