There was bad there was good going back 10 years it’s how the cycle works in Dallas. How was the defense before Micah? Really bad.

Re signing Dak meant we were wasting everyone else.I don’t think anyone is arguing against that. The bigger point is are we a better defense with him. Good GM’s figure out how to build around not tear it down.
We’ll see how long it takes to reload this defense since rebuild is a forbidden term with our dysfunctional ownership.
My hunch is longer without a talent like Micah. And probably waste these last few years with Dak.
The pff pass rush grade champ was on the field in that game?
Let's dive into Mr. 90 plus pass rush grade.
2021 postseason pass rush grade....73
2022.....79
2023 74
These are the facts people want to ignore. But hey he's always ranked first in the regular season![]()
That was one game and Quinn thought it would be smart to basically install a completely new scheme for that game.our defense has not been the same since the play-off loss to green bay.
and that happened with micah.
we couldn't stop the run before micah got here.
we couldn't stop the run with micah.
and its continued.
its been going on for 10yrs +.
the only way it changes is if the f/o has a philosophical change on how they view the defense.
If I owned the team and wanted to keep him I would have signed him when he first asked to.If you owned the Cowboys and he publicly said he no longer wanted to play for you, would you be eager to sign a $200 million dollar contract with him? I don't believe the divorce was really all that sudden, it was brewing for some time.
How about “exposed.” It was fool’s gold with Micah.I understand if we were actually in an official rebuild mode and Micah wasn’t in our plans as we planned on trading him to highest bidder during Free Agency that could have actually been a strategic plan. But that’s not what happened. We had every intention on resigning. We just couldn’t get a deal done . But I’m not here to argue out as that’s been exhausted over last couple months.
This thread is about what the impacts of losing Micah has meant to this defense . The fact we lost him a week before the season had to be devasting to a DC and schemes with other losses on defense in FA and injuries.
Where was our pass rush going to come from. We also lost Lawrence as a Cap Casualty. Our top two edge rushers gone .
And with our 2 CB’s not a 100% recovering from injuries we were leaving our secondary very vulnerable without a pass rush.
WTH were we thinking. We had to know it could be a disaster .
He was supposedly stretching his back. But the whole situation never should have occurred. That was on Jerry and his bully negotiating tactics. That laying around on the medical table pre season game was real classy
I haven't seen anyone say they have faith in the FO.They need a bunch more than they would have with him. How long will that take.
And will that basically waste Daks remaining years? Like it will this year.
I’d argue we have more questions than answers at this point. Perhaps some of you have more faith in our dysfunctional ownership than I do.
I've seen nobody pretend Micah wasn't out there for the GB debacle.Well the offense is actually good. The defense has so many issues and Micah didn’t mask them. Micah was out there when guys ran on us for 200 yards. People pretend now but he was out there during the Packers debacle.
I will say we got wore getting rid of him. I felt getting rid of him meant we’d keep Bland and Pickens and I was totally against that.
Film happened. The run defense was looking fine or better I don’t know what happened these last two weeks.
One game.To an extent. I keep being reminded of the playoff games and the Packers game. It just keeps rearing its ugly head.
The real question is, are Michael fan boys ready to accept that keeping Lil Michael also would have also devestated our defense?I understand if we were actually in an official rebuild mode and Micah wasn’t in our plans as we planned on trading him to highest bidder during Free Agency that could have actually been a strategic plan. But that’s not what happened. We had every intention on resigning. We just couldn’t get a deal done . But I’m not here to argue out as that’s been exhausted over last couple months.

Our defense was gonna suck with him.I understand if we were actually in an official rebuild mode and Micah wasn’t in our plans as we planned on trading him to highest bidder during Free Agency that could have actually been a strategic plan. The grade is the outcome, not why.The pff pass rush grade champ was on the field in that game?

Since you didn't address what I said I don't know how to respond to this. You can't get a lead and force them to pass if the defense refuses to even slow the other team down. The best you can hope for is a tie in those situations.. and unfortunately our offense is not getting the benefit of facing our defense so they are at a distinct disadvantage.
Yes but would it suk as much? Our defense was gonna suck with him.
Would it make a difference if we moved up 5 spots? Honestly?Yes but would it suk as much?
I really couldn’t speak on their behalf .The real question is, are Michael fan boys ready to accept that keeping Lil Michael also would have also devestated our defense?
