Are the Cowboys causing Micah to lose the surprise factor in his game?

I don't know why, but I get the impression that Micah wants to pass-rush (near enough) every down. Whether that's to get Sack Record, or financial implications on next contract, it isnt in the best interest of the team....I just remember how Hurts played his pass-rush against him at RPO'd him to death.
Micah can be spared and utilized as a decoy
It’s because Micah is not a special linebacker.

He is however a special pass rusher.

The opposing team is very happy anytime his assignment isn’t to go after the QB.

The opposing offense comes out of the huddle, who are they looking for first on the Cowboys defense?? #11!! They need to know where he is to adjust their protection, have him chipped, or doubled.

My fear is that when he first started out for the cowboys you didn't know where he was coming from. He came from everywhere, making it less predictable to make adjustments.

My question is are we fine to leave him at one spot all game long, and have him take on big OT AND double teams all game, or at times can we switch him up still. I know he wants to be a full time DE, I think we can move him around SOME times to bring some confusion to the offense.

If anything, have him switch sides, and not rush from the same side all game.

2) Does anyone think the added bulk will slow him down??
Parsons will play his normal position and get similar snaps as he had last season. This is Parsons letting everyone know that he wants to paid as a defensive end not a linebacker.

....we can blitz him from linebacker (even LVE pass-rushed last year). Ever thought how Mazi may create pathways to the QB. Moving Micah to LB doesn't mean he's not sent to rush, nor that the offense can just ignore him. He also gives single coverage to Armstrong/Fowler...have you noticed their snaps/per snap??
There's a problem with some Cowboy's fans, always looking at the individual rather than the scheme.

I am not bashing him at all. It’s a fact. I blame the coaching staff for it.
No no not saying you were, just a disclaimer you have to make on here, every time you say something bad about a player you're bashing them, sorry should have been more clear

He’s playing 10-20% more snaps than other elite pass rushers. It’s not just his size, it’s the number of reps. And he is probably getting more attention given the limitation on the interior in the past.
WE have plenty of depth some one needs to stept it up

11 is never going to surprise anybody ever again.

You put him on the weakside edge to pull an extra blocker (probably the RB) that way and have either 5 guys for 4 blockers or 1-1 blocking everywhere else.

Micah has to bulk up imo. He gets wore down at the end of season, I hope it doesn’t cost him too much of his speed or burst off the line

I think it's been mentioned before a few days ago, i know i did, the need to still have the surprise element with Micah. He was being used constantly at DE towards the end last year and that led to wearing down and also getting injured. Adding another ten to fifteen pounds is not gonna prevent that. Might actually hurt him instead. Hope DQ continues to use him like they did in his rookie season when he was more effective and lethal. Same goes for Sam, Fowler and DLaw. He has enough toys to do some really interesting things that could elevate this defense.
With the depth we have at edge I think he should and probably will move around more. In obvious passing situation we can have Sam Williams and Armstrong we can put on edge and slide Dlaw inside with Micah picking his spot. I would love to see that
But if they play him as much on the edge as last year we have to cut back on his snaps some

there's zero chance of that happening.
Some fans think we lie ball every player
Others think we over pay every player
No team is gonna offer more than they have to pay and no player on their first negotiation is gonna take less than they can get. Negotiations is by definition a back and forth of offers

There is no need to worry about this until you see his game start to slip.
1.5 sacks in the last 6 games playing mostly DE. He is not big enough to set the edge as a DE. His value is at LB blitzing from all over the DL. Do we need to see him register a 5 sack season at DE before declaring the problem?

I think his issue is wearing down over the season. He was almost exclusively a pass rusher. Mostly coming from the edge. He is too small to take on OTs every snap. Plus the interior DL is doing nothing to help. I am not a fan of additional bulk especially as a player gets older. Don’t know if he will slow down. I think they need to move him around a lot more. Keep the rushing snaps to 20 ish a game. Have Williams get a bunch of his edge snaps and let Micah hunt from the middle. Delay a few blitzes Up the gut and hopefully he gets a clean run. Bottom line is he can’t line up a DE every snap. That will ruin him.
Mazi Smith will most definitely help the interior push which will help Micah

I dont think he needs to bulk up as it could cost him speed, which was what made him so good his rookie year.
He plays too many snaps imo,he should be in on all 3rd downs, and some of the others.

If he plays strictly de then he would have to play contain also wouldnt he?
I think he should rush from all over, but maybe not constantly rush unless he is not good in coverage.

He will wear down, and they need to be smart and limit his snaps so in dec and jan he can be not so worn out.

After his rookie season there was plenty of tape on him. Teams game plan him and understand the Cowboys move him around. Opponents have found ways to reduce his effectiveness and we just need other players to step up and get to the QB when everyone is focusing on him. Sam Williams showed some flashes last season, but wasn’t consistent. From what i’ve read the Cowboys are still going to move Parcells around but maybe not as much. He’s currently bulking up which tells you he’s going to play a lot of DE. We’ll find out if it’s a good move or not this season.

What's immature or off topic??? If someone just focus's on the individual they've totally missed out on the whole concept of pass-rushing.

Not sure how much of this is really just wanting the title of DE, which pays more. How they choose to line him up and use him is something else altogether...
Parsons is still listed as an LB on the team's website.
When training camp begins, it will be interesting to see how the media guides and other published information for the upcoming season list him as.

In a perfect world you have an option on the roster so you don’t have to get into negotiations with the good players, just the elite ones. That’s obviously hard at some positions like QB or edge rushers. But Schultz is an example of a guy you could have easily hard an option waiting and not had to tag him last year. It’s not easy to always have a guy but I think they should be thinking that way at the very least. And that involves thinking 2-3 years down the road sometimes
