I remember. The Cowboys were underdogs that day playing on the road in a cold January day in Minnesota. It took a miracle hail mary pass in the final minute to give the Cowboys the winning lead. This game is also famous, or should I say infamous for being the reason we no longer have glass beer bottles at NFL games... a ref suffered a head wound and went to the ground when hit by a bottle. It's funny what the mind remembers. I remember in preparation for that game I stuffed my Vikings RB Chuck Forman trading card between the mattresses in my bed so its powers would be suffocated and could not help the Vikings. I was just a kid then with silly ideas.I hope they're ok. Offensive line has become bigger, stronger, and more athletic over the decades. Back in the 60s and 70's a QB had about 1.5 seconds to throw the ball. Once he got to the end of his drop that ball better be out or it's your ***. Now QBs get a little more time. Our O-Line should be good enough for a few seconds. You really can't expect more.
Anyone here remember the 1975 game against the Vikings in the playoffs? Roger had 0 time to throw the ball but still managed to pull it off.

That's why I laugh at people that say pressuring the QB is as good as a sack.I hope they're ok. Offensive line has become bigger, stronger, and more athletic over the decades. Duncan is an excuse maker for many of our previous staff. Philbin is likely an upgrade.
How can you even say that lmao you have 0 idea of how effective Philbin has been
As important as it was, no one remembers the 4th and 17 completed pass. It's the Hail Mary that made history and won the game.Forget the Hail Mary dude, a few plays before that the Cowboys had a 4th and 17. I don't think they completed a pass for that distance all game. If they don't convert the game is over. Staubach to Pearson for a first down on a muddy field with no time to throw was one of the best plays in NFL history. The Hail Mary was after the fact.
I hate it when guys don't get to practice all preseason. But I'd rather they start slow and and strong than start strong fizzle out in December.
Tyron Smith and La'el Collins have been relatively subject to their dings, here and there. The NFL teams, right now, are being extremely careful with the starters who have been valuable in the past. They'll err on the side of caution, rather than subject them to any unnecessary risk. I'm hoping that both Tyron and La'el get fully physically prepared for a season that will test their durability. Let's hope they'll perform as they have in the past.
I can see how jacked up the line is right now.
philbins job is to coach and manage the OL.
It’s a mess.
There are times a pressure leads to a poor throw resulting in a pick. There are times when pressure is better than a sack. But it's hard to get a sack without pressure. That's why I laugh at people that say pressuring the QB is as good as a sack.
A QB can turn pressure into a great offensive play. A QB on his backside does nothing. There are times a pressure leads to a poor throw resulting in a pick. There are times when pressure is better than a sack. But it's hard to get a sack without pressure.
True, they can. But i remain convinced qb's would prefer no pressure.A QB can turn pressure into a great offensive play. A QB on his backside does nothing.
Mitch Hyatt carted off with apparent knee injury
just let him go was not even drafted don't think he will ever turn into a play\er
How is it Philbin's fault that the OL is a "mess"?
Two starters are likely being held out and limited for precautionary reasons due to having some injuries. The RG is fine. The LG competition is fine and they have a veteran C and a young rookie battling him.
Where is the mess? And what is the direct fault of Philbin? Are you seriously arguing that it's Philbin's fault Collins and Smith have been limited in practice?
This is as stupid as when you tried to convince all how awesome Richard was. I am not sure he even has a job right now.
