a lot of people are concerned about defense of the Dallas Cowboys...I'm sure, to different extents...this may ease some of those concerns and it may enforce others...

On paper, it appears to me at least, that the Cowboys are.a very similar team to the Steelers..not identical by any means..but very similar...

3 headed monster on offense

Romo - Big Ben
Zeke - Bell
Dez - Brown

Cowboys definitely have the better OL

Both teams are relatively weak in the secondary...Cowboys might even be better than the steelers here...

The comparisons end on the DL....Steelers defense last year generated a ton of sacks...close to 50...but even w their pressure..their pass D was terrible...near the bottom of the league...

The last two years the steelers have won a total of 21 regular season games...10 in one year and 11 in the other...a team that is constructed pretty similarly to ours...probably a glimmer of hope for some on here..at the same time, the steelers only have one playoff win in the last two years...probably confirmation for other that this style isn't good enough to win when it matters...

I know there are a few people on here that follow some other teams very closely for different reasons..anyone on here that follows the steelers very closely? Just my opinion but this Cowboys team is a team just like the Steelers of right now...probably a 10-11 win team..hopefully with more playoff success than what the Steelers have had the last two years

Steeles made crazy strides in their pass rush from 14 to 15...33 sacks in 14 to 48 in 15...so this Cowboys team is more like the 14 steelers...their pass defense was awful in both years..

Steelers have a better coach and above everything else, a philosophy for the organization that never wavers.

Two huge differences beyond the talent.

Anybody think Mike Tomlin could have come in here after Wade and won anything?

Cmon.

I don't think Tomlin is a particularly great coach

iMHO he and JG are both middle of the road.

The two situations they came into are so vastly different that I don't know how you can compare the two. Tomlin's been in a position to succeed. Garrett's set up to fail. Flip the two and I see a ginger winning big in Pittsburgh while nothing changes in Dallas.

I could see Tomlin struggling with the leadership structure here.

I can't see Garrett winning big in Pittsburgh. There would be clapping and a lot of false leadership in press conferences. That fan base would eat him.

He also would be held a lot more accountable by their ownership.

I understand how the situations are different. But let's be intellectually honest about that as well.

There are few coaches who could take the Cowboys job and succeed with the way things are run.

But that does not excuse Garrett from his own shortcomings in managing game tempo and understanding situational football.
