Dallas should be looking WR to improve the existing combination, Butler and Street are not going to suddenly become better than the 2nd tier WR group of Rookies. So improvement there can happen into the 3rd-4th Round.

I don't want to use any of the top two picks on a receiver. If your scouting department is worth its salt, you should be able to find receivers in third round and below.

Look at the Steelers. They found Emmanuel Sanders in the third; Antonio Brown in the sixth, Martavis Bryant in the fourth.

The Pats found Julius Edelman in the seventh.

The Cardinals found J.J. Nelson in the fifth and John Brown in the third.

The Seahawks got Tyler Lockett in the third and Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse as undrafted free agents.

We don't need to keep reaching high for wide receivers. We need to develop them better. Let's use high draft picks for other important positions.

Keep reaching for recievers? Which ones would that be? Dez was a top 5 talent that we got in the 20s, other then that we haven't used high picks on recievers. ....not a first or 2nd.

If we have learned anything from the the playoffs, it is the QB play and a very good defense that gets you to the SB. Great WRs are a nice luxury but they are not the key to success in the playoffs.

If I'm the Cowboys, I'm looking at upgrades to the 4th and 5th WR spots before drafting another Dez-type player in the 1st.

After listening to the CBoys draft show with Broaddus, I'm leaning against drafting Goff or Lynch at #4. Goff played in a system and his arm strength isn't that great, and Lynch was rated #29 on the CBSports Draft guy's (also on the show) big board. Im thinking it will come down to Bosa or wr Treadwell.

Many of the guys I mentioned weren't high first or second round picks either.

When the Cowboys dominated back in the 1970's, they had TWO first round talents at wide receiver...Michael Irvin and Alvin Harper.

You missed my entire statement. Someone post that we keep reaching for recievers, I said no so your reply is about not needing a Dez type of reciever. .....haha ok

You said Dallas keeps reaching for recievers. .....I'm asking you to list them

There was a period of time when we were hunting for receivers, giving up first round picks (Roy Williams and Joey Galloway) to find a top receiver. We also used a second round pick on Antonio Bryant. Fortunately, the philosophy of our team has changed, and we're focusing more on building in the trenches.

Be that as it may, I probably used a word that gave you the wrong impression. I didn't mean we "keep on drafting receivers high" as if it is a consistent pattern. I was speaking more that we shouldn't necessarily invest a high pick in a receiver when we have other needs.

We need to consider WR but we should be able to find one 2-3. And if they want a vet get a producer. I'd go the vet route.

I was agreeing with you and adding to your thought. If I called you stoopid (common when someone disagrees) or something, then I would have been dogging you. :omg:

Very convinced that we should bring in Alshon Jeffery. The pressure that would allow us to put on defenses would make things very easy for us.

You get Jeffery and Miller and we have a top five offense again.

I really don't want to see this... How many teams that have won the super bowl in the last 10 years have had elite WR's? I don't think any... People always fall for the flashy receiver every year, the bottom line is it's unnecessary. We already have 1. Let's keep building our defense with our high picks and maybe a QB.

I don't know that we need a WR at 4 but I do think we need to help our receiving corps. We don't have that guy who can take the top off with speed who you can count on to catch the ball and we don't have a guy who you can count on to go over the middle and make the tough catch. That guy opposite Dez who can be counted on to run the good route and be where he's supposed to be on every play. That guy doesn't need to be a top 5 pick or even a 1st round pick, heck, it doesn't even have to be a draft pick at all but we do need that IMO.
