Stopped reading.

Clueless nonsense.

Ever apply for a position as a stand up comedian?

By the way, Cowboy, what is a Texas bred breed of hog...and at what weight does a pig become a hog? For the non-reader fly by flame...

so one doesn't wonder all day and do nothing - Red Duroc, and a pig becomes a hog at 125 pounds.

For the record, hogs kept a ranch running and cattle paid for the property. Today, wellheads don't hurt.

I differ slightly in that I think he's willing and has given up control................ but only to a family member.

The question for a long time has been "How do we build the best team possible with Jerry Jones running things?" *That's* reality. Hoping Jerry hires a GM, or complaining about the fact that he won't non-stop in every thread is not dealing with reality. It's complaining about gravity.

I think Dallas can compete now and plan for the future. No doubt the key is keeping Romo upright and this team can win now but to push the future aside I think would be a mistake. Draft in my opinion is about the future and this season with an aging QB I think it is time to address the future of the franchise. I love Romo and Witten and as I said I think they can win now but I would not sacrifice the future for any individual player. I don't think 2016 hinges on the #4 pick but I do think the future of this franchise very well could hinge on that #4 pick

If there is no gravity, then that just sucks...:)

But you talked about referenced Johnson taking two QBs and that's not what the poster was referencing at all as he talked about drafting a TB and QB. It was a peculiar comment by you.

And yes, if my scouts tell me that Wentz or Goff or Lynch is a franchise caliber QB and I have an opportunity to draft one, ABSOLUTELY, I take the QB and let him sit behind Romo for a few years and learn the system. It's a no brainer.

You and reading comprehension with someone else...are like water and oil. They never mix and makes Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack tripped over the candlestick...igniting his polyester imported tweed pants which then caught on fire the multi synthetic carpet, thus forcing Jack to stop, drop, and roll...

A narrow view gives an inadequate response...especially when all one validates is his own ego...as reading comprehension was not the target, as with yourself...a narrow self defense doesn't cover topic as well...good night, Son

As for a decoder ring now, or grow up. Oh, and straight on...

or for the first of our exchanges, some football slip into your side of a potential discussion.

Perhaps, in the Jerry sucks literature, one can eventually learn enough to know that the defensive coordinators under Jimmy Johnson, kept the team together for the real Championship time. And if not for the only real alternative for an Offensive Coordinator, after Jimmy sucked up to Miami's Head Coach for his son as the Offensive Coordinator, that Norv Turner saved the functional life of Troy Aikman and Jimmy's butt in the process.

Yea, read on...and ignore.

The long view approach to free agency is what keeps you perennially competitive.

The all in approach is how you hurt yourself financially and end up being a flash in the pan.

Questionable subject matter in the article.

I agree with you with this approach and had the team went with the all in approach and it backfired this same blogger would crucify them for not taking the latter approach you mentioned it's a damned if you do damned if you don't attitude in this article man I can't stand humans sometimes.

The summation of this article is this:

Based on the composition of the roster today, it's pretty easy to see, 2016-2017 is likely the best chance this team has of hoisting a Lombardi in the next five or ten years.

And if that doesn't give one a clue, as this draft evolves, then nothing said will...or the Cowboys could attempt to rob a quick chance or two...and then end up as the Giants just did.

The composition of the roster today(pre-draft) doesn't reflect in anyway what chances the teams has in hoisting a Lombardi in the next five to ten years.

Just hope being this financially frugal will help them keep there offensive line in place long-term. Let's hope that is the reasoning!

That's the real key. If you have a QB you have the key to building a team. If you don't have a QB then you aren't building a team that can win a super bowl.
It's takes many other pieces but the fastest and most consistent way to build a team is around your QB
It's also the fastest way to dig yourself into a hole, if you aren't positioned to set that QB up for success. Teams that take QBs high in the draft and then give them lousy coaches and plop them down behind a crummy OL with no weapons around them can ruin the QBs' careers and their own mid-term futures very easily. I really think a lot of the hit-or-miss nature of QB draft picks is more because of the settings they go to than the quality of players they are.

Fortunately for the Cowboys, they're in a tremendous position to take a QB and set him up for success, at least in terms of the talent in front of and around him on the field. So I agree with you--the Cowboys should not hesitate to take a QB if one they like is there--but I'm not fully on board with this as the first step for every team missing a good QB.

The item that kept Dallas from the 'show' prior to injuries, was outside pressure. Is that fixed yet?

Back up isn't the current solution. To go with a 'rook' to a Super Bowl? How smart is that?

there's not one in the first round to fix the problem either.... Bosa and Buckner are not rush ends. You don't spend a 4th pick on a DE who isn't going to get you double digit sacks per year.

Without Hardy, Lawrence will truely be an unknown with double teams. With Hard there last season, Lawrence was the least double teamed defensive end in the league.

Is this actually a statistical fact backed up somewhere?

There is no hoping that is one of the main reasons they want to keep Frederick, Martin, and possibly Collins long term and the reason I said possibly for Collins because he is still growing as a olineman.

I think if Jerry was sole ruler of his domain, this board would have 20 threads wondering why the hell we haven't cut Johnny Manziel yet.

LOL.........

This is a close thread moment IMO. Good one Sydla!

Yea, I'll rarely post something that isn't backed by statistical support. Yes, his lack of double teaming was dependent upon Hardy being in the mix last season...and the fact that he was concluding but year two in the professional ranks.

Hardy was shut down by a rookie udfa in the last game against the Commanders, when he had an incentive to make an extra $2 million. Hardy wasn't the player they thought they were getting and this myth of him being double teamed is just a that, a myth.
