Are we done with the receiver/TE position?

So first round DT, 2nd round TE, 3rd round WR, 4th round RB?
Just exactly what have you seen in the last 30years, that would indicate to you that they would take a DT in the 1st? Even if it was a normal viable option, I’m not sure this would be the year to do so! My guess is they wait until someone signs either Hankins or Watkins and then sign the other… then look at the position in the 4th or 5th with best case scenario being 3rd. Just based on their history!

I wonder if Arizona would take Gallup and a reasonably decent draft pick(5/6th) for Hopkins? I would explore that. Imagine CD, DH and Cooks……

The draft is looking like TE is going to be the best value pick for us or at least the position with the best chance to land us a starter.

Does anyone know?

Cooks is basically the same level player as Gallup, but neither are CD. Whether Schultz is gone or not, are we gonna add more pieces or not?
You are so off on Cooks. His production is much better than Gallup's.

As much as I'd like to see a monster DT drafted, this clown show of organization doesn't see the value in a monster DT to stop the run that demands two blockers, they prefer versatile defensive tackles....So I'd like them to draft a TE, OT, LB, RB, in that order if that's where the value resides.
this isn't a snarky post, but do you know of some monster dt's they've passed on in the past few years? I remember Chris Jones, but after that have they had an opportunity to grab a guy that made sense?

Something tells me Schultz may come back on a deal. He is still out there and the most someone got so far at TE is 7 million a season (Hurst). If you can get him on a deal for 8-9 million a season you do it.

If not there will be a vet TE brought in. You cannot go with 2 second year players. You need to bring someone in that can block at the very least. Moreau is an option. Blocked with Raiders when they had Waller, and seldomly used in passing game there. But kid can block, and has hands as well.

why don't you go with second year players? there is no reason to bring schulz back imo

I doubt it’ll be an OL, and I don’t really see a good candidate at DT at pick 26, so you’re likely right that it won’t be a “Big ugly”.

I could see WR or more likely TE. If Kincaid is there, I hope they just pull the trigger and get the next Jay Novacek.

I could also see a DE/edge player if someone like Nolan Smith falls a little, and of course there is a chance the pick could still be Bijan or Gibbs.

But at least we’re able to start zeroing in some on the position they might choose.
Do you not see CB as still a need (long term) I feel like it's still squarely in play. Also considering the other two TE's, I'm starting to warm up to Washington a bit more. Feels more complimentary vs Kincaid who would likely relegate them to the bench

Doesn’t Dalton Kincaid just have the perfect name to be a Cowboy?

Or the next star in Road House II.

If they draft Kincaid, how many wives are they going to let him bring into Texas?

I hope not. I think TE needs to be a 3-5 round pick. So good options there. WR is a tougher one. I still want a pure speed guy. DT and G should be the first 2 picks in my opinion.

I believe we are at receiver. Got three vets and three or four young guys. We can get them sorted this year before determining if we need to do something else or more.

Tight end is a bit trickier. I think the team has to be pleased with what it saw from Ferguson and Hendershot, especially when Schultz was sidelined. However, I can't say I'm real comfortable heading into the season with them and no safety net. Now, maybe Schultz's market value is low enough that we just bring him back, but I think someone will sign him and we'll bring in a cheap vet as the safety net. We've also been linked to a first-round tight end. I'd prefer we not do that, but I can't say it's not a possibility.

Yeah, I think CB could still be in play, if the right guy falls. However, I think the draft is going to see a lot of corners go off the board before pick 26.

Anything can happen but I easy can see 5 or 6 corners gone before Dallas picks. If that happens I feel like the BPA will definitely be at a different position.

JMO.

I do think TE could be the pick. I have no idea of how Dallas will view Washington. I wouldn’t be surprised if they love him and I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t have much interest there. I just haven’t gotten a read on how they feel about TE in the first this year.

It will be an interesting first round, for sure.

I think we take a TE and WR at some point this upcoming draft.

Dallas drafts tightends, like Christopher Walken needs cowbell. More is better.
