Are we really trying to win now or build for the future? because to me honestly as i sit and really think about where we are and how far we got to go as a team taking personal feeling out of it, so if we are really trying to win now then in my mind we've already created a formula in todays game that worked for us and our team the way it is structured and thats the 2014 formula which is run more keep tony from having to make the plays all the time.. Elliot would seem to be the best bet imo because Elliott can score if he get to the open field which is something i look for now a days considering tony and taken some of the burden off him so much................

imo he can save Romo from himself and maybe he can play a whole 16 games (not banking on it tho).. so to me if we are being honest wouldnt Elliott be the best choice for us in the long run for win now mentality? because to me yea yea i understand u can find a good back in the later rounds but normally they are just that, good nothing special so the way i see it u got Dez here Beasley there whoever on outside hopefully and upgrade more consistent wr and an ELITE Oline with that kid behind it after seeing what he did to Alabama Def, which is the closest thing you'll see on a college level to an NFL Defense, he's rookie of the year in my opinion..........

Whats wrong with having an Elite type back behind this line because a good back is all he's gonna be most likely is just good why not have a potential top tier rb behind this really really good oline im thinking about win now (still got to get a lil better in pass blocking but they r developing) .. Because I'm sorry Bosa at 4 history tells me he's not gonna get sacks like that 1st year hardly any rookie pass rushers come out poppin in the NFL like that ........... so thats my question take feelings and ur pet cat and the # 4 pick out of it because to me ur no longer paying these top 10 picks 50 mill 40 mill contracts...

side note i am a fan of Henry so i wouldnt be to mad if we got Bosa (even tho im not a fan of Bosa) if you can guarantee we will getrb Henry in 2nd or end of round 1 cause i think he would be really good in our system too.... thats the only way id agree with that if we are trying to win now

sorry for the long post when i got to typing so much of my reasons of why i feel like this came out and i wanted to be clear where im coming from as an overall just want to know how do yall feel about it

It's not just that you CAN find good backs, you can find good players at every position everywhere in the draft. It's how often can you find these good players outside of the early round? It happens quite often at the RB position.

No to RB at 4. I'm down on the QBs in this draft class, but I'd still choose a QB prospect over an RB.

Well the talks for Cleveland and Kaep have heated up. So, looks like Cleveland wont need Wentz. This will change our entire strategy IMO

The Cowboys actions dictate otherwise. They have said and pretty much made it clear through their actions that they do not believe in paying a lot of money for the TB position. So they wouldn't go above $12MM guaranteed for Murray, $14MM guaranteed for Miller who they had interest in. Knowing that, they would be doing a 180 on their own policy on TBs if they took Elliott at 4 because Elliott would be guaranteed almost $23-24MM based on rookie contracts.

I don't think there is really any chance they take Elliott at 4. It would go against their policy on paying a lot of money to a position that takes a beating and they believe wears down quickly.

Maybe a trade back and then Elliott? Possibly.

My guess is they go TB this year 3rd or 4th round.

So who will Cleveland take at 2?

Ramsey?

Are they a 3-4 team?

I'm wondering if a Kaepernick trade doesn't involve a swap of first round draft picks? If the 49'ers move him, they'll definitely be in the market for a quarterback and I don't think they would want to risk being out of the running at #7.

Cleveland could get their quarterback and still have a top 10 pick to fill another need.

I doubt it unless Cleveland is swapping and getting picks + Kaepernick.

I doubt we take RB at 4
I would rather take QB or trade down

My feeling is that the FO is a group of reactionary deciding makers who have no idea what they are doing. The game plan seems to change from year to year and even week to week with little direction or sense of philosophy of team building. We try to copy the blueprint of whoever wins the SB and scrap that in favor of whoever wins next year.

Our strategy appears to be "hope"
That is not how you build a contender

Last year I felt it was all in win now mode. This year so far feels like they are building a foundation for the future.

We're always building for the future. The only player we've lost from last year is Mr. Cancer. Free agency has just begun and we still have the draft.

There is no way Kaep is work the number 2 overall

I believe we're walking a thin tightrope in attempting to balance out our cap finances for both now and the future as well.

We're also juggling those heavy moneybags while doing so -- not such an easy thing at all to do when you think about it.

As far as the RB thing is concerned, I'd like to see us get Henry early in the 2nd round but that's likely wishful thinking.

OK. Let's use Jerry's own words. He came out after the season and said two things really needed to be fixed more than anything else.......... we needed a pass rush and we needed to upgrade the backup QB spot because it was unacceptable we couldn't win a game when Romo went down.

So starting today, how does what's left in free agency and the draft solve those problems?

It's an honest question.

Not really, Henry will be there at 34. I have no doubt.

It doesnt, Jerry says what he wants the fans to hear. Then doesnt do a damn thing about it. Its a vicious cycle
