Are we trying to pull off some sort of Moneyball?

You were talking about length of contract and how your central argument was that Jerry sucks.

Given that length of contract is not part of the formula, I am comfortable describing your position as ignorant and oversimple.

It creates an interesting irony compared to your confident declarations.
You do understand that longer term contracts typically are averaging more money per year? So APY or length of contract definitely is a part of the formula.

I am glad you think Jerry is a good GM.

I am comfortable saying, this is to complicated for you to comprehend.

Do you think Jerry wants to win or make money?

Don't intangible the two with other owners.

He leans towards money...and this board reinforces that. His words reinforce that. His management actions reinforce that. The drama reinforces that.

He is not interested in winning trophies. He is interested in pacifying the fan base after his sabotage.

I qatch sports for highlights now a days...and will still fight petty fights online to get banned to prove my case....as I have been sidelined on this site like 10 times.

You are interested in keeping the illusion going.

No one should waste time on cap or scouting for this team...as it's about money and not trophies.

Your supposed relationship between AAV and length of contract have nothing to do with it either. Keep trying and then finally you can actually connect that argument to the outcome you want.

I never said Jerry was a good GM. More proof you do not pay attention.

You're the typical man afraid to introspect and hoping by adding complexity you can somehow resolve foundational problems.

years matter, wait no it's the relationship between the cost and years that matters. what next? cost/years/jerry dynamic?

You have yet to explain anything remotely complex.

I'm starting to wonder if we are trying to pull off some sort of "Moneyball" style form of team building were we are looking at certain metrics that the general public doesn't generally perceive as valuable to sign lower dollar FA and acquire players via trade.

I'm not saying that it is a positive or a good thing, but it certainly seems like they are targeting certain players who have an athletic profile over an NFL pedigree.

Our offseason seems to have a theme... from the coaching search/hire to the FA period, to the players we are adding...
Interesting... but what metric explains the moneyball style in football?

drafted in the first round?
from the colleges near Dallas?

And the salary cap kind of takes away the need for a moneyball approach....

I can't help you. Just wait and we will have 4 more comp picks next year. You go ahead and believe Jerry is signing talented FA's that will make the team, get significant playing time and help us make the playoffs.

Now you're resorting to posturing. The disposition of this argument has no bearing on reality.

You must be mad. this is usually the part before physical threats.

Do you think the Patriots lost money with the Dynasty that they had?

Do Super Bowl winning teams typically lose money?

Do the teams that miss the playoffs somehow become more profitable?

Do good teams have a hard time selling tickets?
Are their prices higher or lower?

He is an owner arguably in the best market. One of the fastest growing states over the last 30 years.

Yes he wants to make money, that is what he knows how to do. Yes he wants to win, which he has no idea how to do it.

Bottom line is he is a crappy GM. It is not intentional to make more money. His ego is too big to bring in a legit GM to fix the problem.

Winning teams make more money. Not the other way around.

Do you think you can win an argument with a question?

If you are going to convince me you need to cite a ruleset on comp picks, breakdown the FA class to see how it applies and make an argument using rules from the cited set.

Now you are trying to make this all about Jerry.

This is what I was talking about introspection. Did it ever occur to you that I am not making this argument because 'I like Jerry?' but instead because you are wrong about how comp picks are calculated?

Schopenhauer’s insights from 200 years ago reveal why intelligence often leads to social isolation. He observed that intelligent individuals make others feel inadequate, activating threat responses in the brain similar to physical pain. This is especially pronounced in group settings. Schopenhauer noted that intelligence triggers unconscious self-measurement, leading to feelings of being judged. He also observed gender-specific dynamics, with intelligent women facing a double bind. Modern research confirms these patterns. Schopenhauer’s teachings offer strategies to navigate these social challenges, such as recognizing social dynamics, choosing the right moments to share complex ideas, and finding a supportive community.

You should seek help for that. People that research and try to self evaluate themselves, should call their local physician or immediately call 911.

You're lying though
You're the tooth fairy!

It helps to explain how I am lying, Chachi.

I am guessing it is more like you think you cannot be wrong so I must be lying about soemthing.

Do you want me to spell out alternate choices other than the two you presented to rub your face in it?
