Anyone willing to make a fair comparison of what McCarthy has accomplished vs his predecessor, it’s no contest.

I'm probably one of the few,but I always thought Mike was a good coach despite his sometimes miscues..I'm glad he's our coach but I do think he could lose a few lbs for his health.

When you assemble a very good team, with some good asst coaches....you let them do their job and your job as HC is to oversee the whole enchilada, providing words of encouragement, guaranteeing victories, and just navigating through the injuries/covid ... MM doing just that so no complaints from me. He kind of took a page from Jimmy's book and we shall see where this goes. But for now, onward and upward.

Love the guy, love his approach, love how he handles Jerry, love how he never snaps at the media even when they deserve it, love his philosophy even though I don’t understand it sometimes, pretty much love everything.

Is Mike McCarthy a great NFL coach? No.
Is the the best coach that we could have under Jerry Jones. Yes.
He's better than Campo, Wade, and Garrett.

Actually I always felt bad for camps,Jerry did him no favors,we were in cap hell..he was set up to fail through no fault of his own..was he a fair to good coach? We'll never know, those teams stunk and he had no chance to succeed..IMHO.

When you're winning,. that makes the HC look good in many eyes ..

. when you're having a superlative year , out right winning division titles by a mile and one of the better win records in NFL.. that stands a HC even more .

nfc east champs.
11 wins with 2 still to play.
incredible play by both sides of the ball.
drafted ceedee lamb and micah parsons.
finally drafted a alabama player before the 3rd round...diggsy...who is the next great cowboys corner.
outside the box thinking with shifting zack out to ot in game last year...mcgovern at fb this year.
aggressiveness on both sides of the ball.
willingness to try anything.
hold players accountable....starting terrence steele as a rookie because he out performed those in front of him...cutting jaylon...benching williams.
development of terrence steele.
dalton schultz,tony pollard,noah brown,cedrick wilson are flourishing.
dan quinn,bones...have significantly improved their side of the ball.
kellen moore's further development as a play-caller.
change in defensive philosophy vs under garrett/marinelli.
so many things to like about this team.
those things are in place as a direct result of mccarthy being the h.c.
his team has a toughness to it because NOTHING has been easy since he got here.
welcome to better days.

I'm actually very happy with him as coach. Even with his questionable decisions. He's calm, cool, and in control. I haven't seen a Cowboys team this put together since the 90s. I have no choice but to be impressed.

He was way wrong on Nolan, but right on Quinn. In his defense Quinn wasn't available at the time. They've stuck too long with Zuerlein but Bones was the right hire. Keeping Moore was the right call IMO. I think Mike is (has become?) humble enough to know what he's not good at and ask the experts (e.g. asked educators how they could improve teaching players via virtual meetings).

So the only real negatives IMO are Nolan and Zuerlein but the Nolan thing is so egregious I wish there was a "wait and see" option, but I'm closer to "happy" than not.

Also I trust this current staff to win more games despite injuries/other stuff than the previous regime.

I 100% agree. Dave was effectively taking over the Jets.

I don't understand how people wouldn't like this coach based off of what we had the past decade and a half. But I can tell which fans don't understand how much responsibility an HC has on the culture of a sports team. I am severely and positively emphatic on the culture we have now!

Anyone that is not happy is a hater or just doesn't understand football....the clock management is not an issue, he CHOSE to play for FGs so the clock management thing is just in the heads of fans that don't understand and just like to spout off. Happy new year.
