I’m just a realist. While this team looks promising . We’ve had others promising as well.
Problem is in most cases we have run into teams who were better or had better performances on the bigger stages.
And that’s what most likely will end our season earlier in playoffs than we’d like. Not coaching.
Could be. I hear ya and agree but I’m just playing devils advocate. In the end the talent must execute or not. This is a talent driven league. On the most part they make the difference.I’m also a realist. McCarthy has received a lot of criticism for his game management. He’s made some very questionable decisions they have left a lot of us scratching our heads. Even some in the media have criticized some of his decisions. I can assure you if he makes a questionable decision in the playoffs that comes back to bite us he’ll be persecuted. If he has one concerning quality it’s his decision making. If you want to keep going on this feel free but I’m done.
It is about talent and coaching always has been always will beCould be. I hear ya and agree but I’m just playing devils advocate. In the end the talent must execute or not. This is a talent driven league. On the most part they make the difference.
The greater coaches help influence the decisions on building the talent. That’s their biggest contribution.
Professional sports is mostly about the talent. We’ve seen coaches with great talent have much success but humbled without talent . Rarely are coaches winning championships without the talent. And then you can run into teams with more talent. Coaching after the fact is over rated at this level. The greatest coaches have the greatest talent on the most part.
If we win or lose a championship it will be more about the talent than the coaching. That’s all.
Coaches aren’t winning crap without the talent. We’ve seen talent win without coaching. It is about talent and coaching always has been always will be
those 2 no votes wanted Meyer, rhule, rivera, joe judge, Siriani, and others..lets check the 2021 records of those new coaches that were hired the last 2 years
all doing well right now huh? anyone but big Mike.
no coach is perfect, hes not but i can see culture change here its not just the 11-4 successful season..hes building a roster that seems to be improving the personality and identity of this team.
Yea, 2 or 3 years of consistent caliber performance without reaching at least a championship game then we can begin looking around. It's hard to argue with the obvious culture change for the better, our present 11-4 record, our NFCE championship and trip to the playoffs.
Many fans were originally hoping for this level of success, but now all of a sudden some have upgraded their expectations to Super Bowl or bust, and if they don't get what they want, the HC is a total failure.
I think MM has done a great job of turning this team around and making them winners. I remember Bill Parcells said "You are what your record says you are." Their record says they are a young, up and coming team with a winning record. If they don't go to the Super Bowl this year they're still a good, young, up and coming team with a good HC. They're good and getting better, but let's not put the cart before the horse.
Lol do you think MM had a choice on hiring Quinn after his last hire?yep. MM hired him.
I, like a lot of posters here, didn’t love the move when it happened. I was wrong.
27 now, and boy are they loud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have to ask if anyone else thinks the results of this poll show about 25n people dislike McCarthy, and do you believe they are also the ones who dislike Zeke, Coop, and Dak for their money?
I like McCarthy. A working class hero.
The good part is that I dont think he gets in the way of success like JG did but I also don't think he is driving or accelerating it.
agree with all that.. this place is always moving goalpost and will not be a happy tome if we don't go to a NFCCG for sure. It's hard to argue with the obvious culture change for the better, our present 11-4 record, our NFCE championship and trip to the playoffs.

It really is that simple for me. Win big or you're just the same as everyone else who didn't win one. In my mind, if you don't win the Superbowl, you fall behind even Barry Switzer.Tough question. So far so good this year. But we know the bar with this franchise is success in the playoffs.
I'm guessing this same poll won't be as favorable for McC a month from now unless the Cowboys make it to the NFC Championship game at a minimum.
I will say this. It is looking more and more like the Cowboys have a good chance at taking this thing all the way this year. He brings home another Lombardi he is instantly elevated behind Tom and Jimmy at #3 HC all time of the Cowboys.
I think this poll can be interpreted differently.27 now, and boy are they loud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As unpopular as it is to say that, I agree. He is kinda just there coasting off of talent on offense and the defense has responded under real good coaching from Quinn. If it were not for Jerry making those coaching decisions for both coordinators appointed, I could at least give McCarthy some credit there.
First and most importantly: he is not Jason Garrett. Garrett is as bad an NFL head coach as I’ve seen. It is baffling that he survived as HC for a decade. I’m angry just thinking about it.
I don’t think MM is Belichick or McVay or Shanahan, but he’s plenty good enough to win with. I’m happy with that after so long with Garrett.
